#Celtics slight favorite to land forward Gordon Hayward, per sources. Appeal is to play for a contender, as well as Brad Stevens.

Keeping that in mind, sources believe #Celtics are slightly favored in landing Gordon Hayward. Would obv be a crushing blow to the #Jazz.

Boston really wants Gordon Hayward. He gives C's tons of versatility on both sides of the ball. Excellent teammate. Makes sense 4 both sides

We really need a player who plays his position. Crowder and Olynyk are decent, but we need to get stronger at those positions for sure.

It could be next year, but only if we add some pieces in the paint. When not Griffin, Ibaka is my favorite.

You might be surprised.

Especially given the fairly strong probability of Lebron walking out on Cleveland.   He's done it every time he's felt his team can't compete,  and i think Golden State has well and truly proven that is the case and will be for the next 3+ years.  They arent good enough to beat the Warriors, they have no cap space to sign talent, no players worth trading,  and no quality picks.   They have nowhere to go but down.

Think about this - we pretty much came just as close to beating the Cavs as they did to beating the Warriors.  Difference is,  we have the ability to clear max cap space, we have a #1 draft pick,  we have a very valuable draft pick from next year,  and we have a number of young quality players on budget deals.

We'll beat Cleveland before Cleveland beats GS.

Adding Hayward alone may not be enough,  but if we add Hayward in addition to picking up a starting calibre big,  then we may be able to give them more then they can handle.

I agree, he'd be a nice fit.

Notice how Kevin Love dissapeared against the Warriors?  It wouldn't surprise me to see him struggle similarly against an Ibaka/Horford frontline.

Throw in a legit offensive threat who could make Lebron have to at least use SOME energy on defence,  and Fultz who coukd give us a big time spark of the bench - we could make things very hard for them.

What about in 2019 when he leaves for LA?

They'll need more beef up front, in addition to Hayward and Fultz. But that can be done without breaking the bank.

as i have said many times we are NOT going to get all we want THIS offseason. It will take time for kids to develop and make trades and get FA's as needed as/if they become available. let's just make sure we have a nice core to start a run in 3 years. we hopefully would still have hayward IF we get him that is. This team will continually be evolving.

He's got to at some point, although it looks like he still has a lot in the tank.

Probably not next year, but he'll be 33 and he's already played almost 1300 games. Even he will hit the wall one of these days. My guess would be he'll be superman for at least another 2 years.

PP and KG were solid until mid 30's. lebron will easily be more solid easily until mid 30's if not until late 30's. let's just keep prepping for next 3 years. as long as lebron plays he will be a solid contributor. i do not see him riding a bench. he will retire when he wants.
