He has the length and agility to give KD more trouble than Lebron can, there I said it.

You can go big with Hayward at SG and Paul at sf, or small with Hayward at sf and George at PF.

Also gives us the ability to let IT walk with fultz in place.

Kawhi is definitely the most capable, but in terms of guys that we could actually get, George is the man. LeBron is also a very lazy defender at times, so I'd be pretty comfortable saying PG is a better defender of wings than LeBron. Maybe even a better defender full stop.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

But the thing is, the Warriors will score 120 on you even with you "stopping" Durrant at let say 25 points, 40% shooting.
You just have to be a team defense juggernaut, and playing a under 200-210 points games.
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

PG would help us compete against the Cavs....but GSW are on another level.

Actually, if you want to get a guy who has the size, strength, agility, and athleticism to even attempt to offset Durant, look no further than Rudy Gay, provided that the significant injury doesn't take too much away from his physical gifts.  He always plays his best against Durant, Giannis, Derozan, George, Lebron, and Melo, as well, and if that injury checks out, which, admittedly, is a big if, I'd love to get him.

I wonder if we traded for him, though, if we could get him to agree to not opt out of his deal.  My only concern would be his handling at the hands of our "medical staff," as there's no way that he should play any back to backs next year, which would also free up more minutes for the young guys during the season, provided that he starts, that is, as he'd be a hell of a weapon coming in off the bench.  What's not to like?

Edit: he just opted out, lol ;D. Ugh.

I don't know what all this garbage nonsense about Paul George not being a good player is, but the dude is flat out an an excellent ball player.  Not too long ago he was easily considered a top 10 player, bordering on top 5.

Then he got injured, came back to a league that had totally changed, and watched as his team imploded around him due to an inability to change with the times.

But make no mistake, surround Paul George with legit, well fitting talent and you'll see him being talked about in that echelon he previously has been. The man is just now entering what is his prime.

I'd really like to watch him play out his best years in Celtic green.

After that injury PG hasn't been his old self(superstar potential), he plays scared
not high on the idea to beat KD/Lebron with your star which is below them

See, this is what bothers me, people don't even pay attention to what is actually happening, they just get this narrative in their mind and stick with even when facts prove otherwise.

Paul George just registered his highest individual season in PPG, FG%, and 3PM.   He also scored his highest playoff PPG, 3PM and 3P% of any season, head to head against LeBron.  28 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 7.3 APG, shooting 43% on 10 3PA.  Yes, his team got swept, but that is a direct result of him having very little surrounding talent.  The fact PG put up those numbers against a defense that was solely focused on shutting him down, sometimes even triple teaming him, is impressive.

Young players that could potentially be a great wing defender and have shown great potential:

Andrew Wiggins
Jaylen Brown
Josh Jackson
Giannis Antentokounmpo
Brandon Ingram (If he added some muscles)

Guys like MKG, Stanley Johnson and Justise Winslow still have the chance to develop into a great defensive wing, but they need to either leave their respective teams or put them under a talented defensive coach.

Why is Wiggins on this list? He's a terrible defender and hasn't improved really at all.

Paul George is an excellent player.
Paul George doesn't put us ahead Cleveland in my opinion. And then the Warriors needn't be discussed.

So... Why?

I said potential, didn't I? He have shown some great defensive flashes when locked on. The problem is his mindset. Could be an effect of a being underdeveloped, losing culture or he just doesn't care at all.

He did a good job defending Harden in this highlights

A great defensive duel with Kawhi
