Put yourself in Her shoes.

You are married to an NBA-Allstar and he's about to get the biggest contract of his life.

You would, 100% know about the Boston Celtics, probably even know their color/mascot/logo. You would be extremely aware of the situation.

If you were part of Gordon's family... even his extended family (uncles/cousins), you would certainly be his biggest fan, and you would be very aware about Brad Stevens/Celtics/Pending Free Agency.

There is zero doubt in my mind that this was an accident.

In fact, you would have to be extremely naive to believe this was an accident in my opinion.
I always try to look at it that way.  Family is the big unknown variable for fans and in fact most people not close to the Haywards in this case.

So, although you have presented a lot of circumstantial evidence that it could have been intentional, I ask you this:  What possible motive would Mrs. Hayward have to muddle in her husband's business dealings?

I noticed the last like of the pick is probably Joe Ingles wife. Joe is a free agent as far as I know and is a close friend of Gordon's so maybe both will be coming to Boston?

That would be awesome. Freaking love Joe Ingles.

But he is a RFA, and way out of our price range if we are signing Hayward.

Apparently they aren't signing Ingles or Hill, which Hayward is close with, which probably kinda ticks him off, you add that to the low ball offer for the extension.....

Could this be his wife's way of saying, "I'm not living in Utah another year.

I'd be more excited if the Shamrock had one less leaf on it.

Hey, I just noticed that Celtics Blog logo has 4 leaf clover, but official Celtics logo is only 3 leafs. Is that a trademark issue, an oversight, or intended?

That would be a little too on the nose. Need to keep things on the down low until FA starts, or at lest close to it. :P

Now It's hard not to get excited, and it's hard not to think this was just a random pic on a random day, and just happens to wear a St. Patties day shirt in such random pic on random day....

I wanna know who took the pic. I can get her not putting two and two together and just posting it with out realizing it. But if Gordon took the pic, he should have known better.....

Or does he.  8)

Yeah, not much after being married for 31 years and raising a beautiful daughter together.  Not much at all.

Seriously though, I just can't imagine this to be another Ball family fiasco.  Unfortunate error, most likely.

I think it is trolling of a sort.  People seem to love trolling the fans.

Pretty clearly seems like an unfortunate accident to me. Probably had a St. Patty's Day shirt lying around (quick Google search tells me that "go green" is a pretty common St. Patty's Day shirt slogan), took the photo and posted it without thinking. Gordon sees his wife's IG and freaks out and tells her to delete it ASAP.

Great words from a great man

Impossible to say her motives for sure but guesses would be:

It's fun to tease this information in a harmless and deniable way.   Soften the blow for Jazz fans.  Wanted to intentionally stir things up and gain twitter followers.  The Haywards could actually be anxious about joining the Celtics and wanted to throw us fans a bone while we wait.

Not to mention the coincidence... first of all it's no where nears St. Patrick day.  I went back to her instagram and there was no photos of these kids wearing this shirt on St. Patricks day.

She just so happens to post a Celtics themed shirt, just a couple weeks before free agency when its the Celtics that every single Utah Jazz sports radio station and and sports news article list the Celtics as the number 1 threat to steal Hayward.  She has to be very aware of this.  I bet you people have asked her straight up out in public, or even close friends and family.  She knows she posted her kid wearing a Celtics shirt.  She definitely isnt dumb and hiding under a rock.

I tend to think, in life, we too often attribute meaning to things that are more easilly explained by coincidence or incompetence. I duobt Gordon Hayward's wife is thinking about the Boston Celtics when she's dressing her child. Seems like a coincidence to me.

A fun one, though.

Since nobody has commented I think this slipped through the cracks....

Disturbing news I just saw from Miami Herald....

Gordon Hayward reportedly "has interest" in signing with the Heat as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

To be clear, Utah remains the favorites to re-sign Hayward this offseason, but at the very least, he'll likely take meetings with Pat Riley in Miami and Danny Ainge in Boston. The Jazz will be able to offer Hayward a five-year, max deal worth somewhere in the ballpark of $179 million, whereas an opposing team will only be able to grant him a four-year deal worth roughly $132 million; so he'd be leaving a hefty chunk of change on the table if he decides to leave Utah.

Sorry. I just saw this today on a sports website. Seems like I am a day or week late and a dollar short.
