Hi everyone :). As all of you know, I'm a little slow, but at the same time, I'm apparently not alone in not being all aboard the Fultz train, so to speak, and as such I'm curious to know what, well, sold you on the guy.  So go ahead - convince me (as well as the rest of the doubters).  Is there a particular performance and/or highlight video that I should watch, etc?  Feel free to post them here, if you want.  Thanks :).
i originally preferred jackson to fultz, and jackson may yet prove to be the better nba player.

but what finally convinced me about fultz' ability to becomes an outstanding nba player were the discussions over on SoSH. Here are some links to that thread and and some of the videos/reports they discussed:

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Lonzo will be better than Fultz

Why I can't predict the future, theres things about Balls game that will hurt him in the NBA.

Fultz averaged 2 less assists but almost ten more points than Ball, which means he contributed more to the team on the offensive end. At least points wise. And Fultz had horrible teammates compared to Ball, so that means he was getting his teammates the best possible opportunities to score.  Futlz also runs the pick and roll, which is the NBA.

Ball who is right handed, can't go right because of how he brings the ball around from left to right. They count on him being bigger than most PG's to get the shot off, but in the NBA that wont always be the case. Smart will have fun with the kid. Ball relies on DEEP(bad) 3 ball shots for a lot of his shots because of that. And since he can't shoot a mid range, the staple of the NBA pick and roll will hurt him a lot. So he's going to have to get to the hoop more, which will be easier in college than the pros.

Also Balls rookie season is going to be rough. Thanks to his dads mouth and the dumb shoe thing, it's been rumored some of the pros haven't taken a liking to it like some have, and will go all out on the kid when they match up. Hopefully the kid has his dads confidence, because it could get broke quick.

Agreed, and this is also partly because of his awful shooting stroke.  What I've seen looks like Shawn Marion/Joakim Noah type of chest-shot form.

He's a gamble just like any other player in the draft..he may end up being another Kyrie Irving or another Sebastin Telfair..no one knows
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

It's so weird. He almost hits his left ear with the ball he brings it over so far. I have no idea how it goes in. LOL What drives me nuts is that people are on Jacksons dip, even though it goes in pretty well, to the point were he's trying to fix it right before work outs. But most people don't say anything about Ball's shot.

Ball could end up being better we just never know sometimes but I can say that Fultz is the better player right now. Any one who disagrees probably hasn't watched enough of both players or they have the last name of Ball. Ball has a ton of flaws.

* Shooting

* Elite size for position (6'4 with same wingspan as Josh Jackson) for position

* Advanced P&R game for his age

* Handle/Crafty moves and ability to get his own shot

Just a few off the top of my head.

This^^
Its all a roll of the dice, nothing is for sure, we do the best we can with the info we gather.

This draft is considered a deep strong draft by all experts, and especially for point guards. Fultz has sat at the top of the top of these young players for months.

I'd hate to give away the next Harden, Wall or Westbrook to not be able to get into the finals.

I generally agree with this and 99% of this blog should agree with this, too. As for his explosiveness, I found this video interesting. He isn't Brown, but he can jump.

Balls last game is tricky to asses...

1. His mom had a stroke
2. It was one game. He didnt have too many bad ones in the year

Fultz has it all. He's so good offensively you don't even ask about defense. You only ask about defense if a kid can't shoot. He can shoot. And he's a PG--brings the ball up , and can distribute, shoot or go to the basket. A longer version of IT, which makes him better.

I believe Ball will come out of the gate firing up the league with his style of play. There will be posts on this thread after the first month of the season saying Ainge blew the draft by not selecting Ball and taking Fultz. Folks like a Beat LA will be leading the charge. Like they were with the Jaylen Brown pick.

But then Fultz will start to earn more minutes, as he learns the offensive and defensive rotations. There will be glimmers of his greatness. He will slowly emerge as a stellar scorer and play maker. May not happen until season 2 or 3. The kid was 18 until a couple of weeks ago for goodness sake.

But starting around year 3, when the Ball buzz has worn off, it will be clear why Fultz was the number 1 pick. He will be averaging over 20 ppg, getting 7-8 assists, and grabbing 5-6 rebounds a game.

And the Danny Doubters will have to find another player to criticize Ainge on. Probably the 2018 Nets pick.

That's how it works here on Celticsblog.

😁😂

Top 3 things that sold me on Fultz:

1. Scoring abilities. Kid can fill it up from anywhere and create his own shot very well.
2. Size & athleticism. Big for his position with a great wingspan.
3. Ability to run the Pick & Roll.
