  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Good rumor for us. Although Miami is a serious option apparently which doesn't make much sense to me.
How reliable is Howard Beck?

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Howard Beck is actually a great reporter, and well respected around the league.

He even has talks with the likes of Lowe and others, so I'd say he's one of the more reliable folks in the media.

I don't buy the Miami hype either (I expect maybe they get a meeting but I doubt it's that serious), but this is good news for the C's.

Operative words, "GM thinks..."

IMHO, just more randomness

When Ainge did nothing at the trade deadline ("to preserve cap space", he said), I figured he knew he had Hayward in the bag--and I said so at the time. That would be a good reason to do nothing. This could well be a confirmation of that.

Unless it's the Utah GM that thinks this it really isn't news...

Agreed Howard Beck's a great mix on analysis and story telling I never miss a Lowe Post that he's on.

As a matter of fact per those podcasts...
Beck was really close with Kobe when he was getting his career going...
Kobe's old agent was Rob Pelinka...
Rob Pelinka is now GM of the Lakers...
The Lakers are a western conference team...

*Puts on my tinfoil hat* Per Howard Beck Rob Pelinka says Gordon Hayward is leaving Utah this off-season.

Yeah, it's just an opinion, probably based on the same speculation that we've all been doing for month.

Lets just wait and see if the Cavs fall in game 5 to the Warriors there may be a more threatening team after Hayward. Heres where you have to pay close attention to the Cavs motives in the next few weeks. Lebron just may want to go hard for Gordon giving the Cavs their 4th star to compete with the Warriors next year

Ditto.

I think the Miami rumors are hogwash.

I've gotta believe Hayward's association with Brad, his old college  coach, mentor and friend, will be the crucial and ultimately decisive factor in the C's favor.

They both made each other and are still made for each other.

I expect to see Hayward in green come fall.

How can the Cavaliers even make cap space for Hayward?

They'd probably have to get rid of (Love or Thompson) AND JR Smith, and even that may not be enough...
