Yes, if it was LeBron, Shaq or KD.

how long have folks on this board stated that for the celtics to reach the next level and contend they need elite talent, not a collection of very good players? at this point for the celtics, quality is more important than quantity.

in the scenario mentioned above, i would keep fultz.

The Kings are really stupid. The Fultz and Buddy Girls backcourt could be special. The Celtics could be receiving picks until 2023.

This is the only type of offer I'm interested in, anything less I hang up the phone.

If the Celtics could get Tatum and Markkanen it's a home run, however Markkanen is probably not there at #10.

So now your looking at Zach Collin's, Dennis Smith JR, Monk, or my sleeper TJ Leaf.

 Horford W.C.S. Zizic
 Markkanen Yabu Skal
 Crowder Tatum
 Bradley Brown
 Thomas Smart Rozier

At least we would have NBA size

The players you get at #5 and #10 are no guarantee, and history shows they are more likely to not be great players vs. #1 picks.

If Fultz becomes an All NBA talent, you cannot walk away from that trade with WCS and two maybes.  That is an all-time horrible trade.

Curry was selected #7, Klay Thompson #11, and Draymond Green was #35.

Durant was #2 and #1 that year was a total bust.

So GS set up there team with picks #7 and after.

The amount of picks we have already is overwhelming - moving that for 2 picks in the lottery, two players and three future picks is an absolute nightmare to try and manage. We would run out of roster space.

Now is not the time to further prolong a legit shot at contending. What I mean by that is that it's unlikely that any of those future picks net us a player on Fultz's level, AND we'd be waiting even more years before we even got them.
No from me.

Exactly, we have two firsts next year and three firsts in 2019.  If we make good choices thats five new rotational players!  Our team is full of second fiddle guys right now, we need to start drafting the main guy and moving some of our excess picks.

So, trading #1 for #5 + #10 + WCS  + Skal = 4 new guaranteed contracts plus we still have three second round picks in this draft, with some good looking prospects.  We are also brining in Zizic for sure, thats makes five new guaranteed contracts.  Supposedly Yabuselle is coming over too, so thats six new  guaranteed contracts.  What if Caleb Swanigan is available at 37?  We have to take him right?  Is Frank Mason or Nigel Williams-Goss better than Demetrius Jackson?  Maybe we need to draft one of them and see how he does in the D league, we need a reliable 3rd string guard just incase. There is only so much roster space.  If we cut Demetrius Jackson we need to draft Frank Mason or Nigel Williams-Goss or someone to fill that 3r string guard role, so that is a wash.  So where do we make up six roster spaces?  Amir, Zeller, KO, JJ, Young, Green.  Ok so we've got 2017 covered, but wait we're singing a FA, so we need to make one more roster spot, I guess Mickey goes.  Now we have 2 firsts in 2018, which two players go now?  What about 3 firsts in 2019, we'll nee three more roster spots.

Right now we're playing fast and loose with the salary cap.  Fans don't want to hear about trading or outright letting players they like walk as FAs but that needs to be the talk.  Who that we really like are we willing to give up on so this team can grow.  I like Isaacs and would love to add the 5th pick, but we're better off moving bodies rather than taking back bodies.  Isaacs is better suited to the 3 until he adds bulk so I'd move Crowder and Smart for the 5th pick and throw in one or two of our surplus 1st round picks, maybe add some 2nd rounders we have three this year.

Smart + Crowder + BOS 2017 2nd #37  + BOS 2018 2nd + BOS 2018 1st (not BKN) + MEM/LAC/BOS 2019 1st + BOS 2019 2nd for the 2017 #5 pick.  sure its an over pa, but not really.  its an over pay in picks we can't reasonably use except in a trade and two players, one who we probably can't match a RFA offer sheet for next year and one who is going to loose his starting spot next season to either Hayward or Brown.   So its basically the fifth pick this year for two bench players and picks we really don't have space for moving forward.

2017-18

PG: IT/Fultz/Williams-Goss
SG: Bradley/Brown/Rozier
SF: Hayward/Isaacs/Nader
PF: Horford/Swanigan/Yabuselle
 C: Zizic/KO/Mickey

The Kings owe the Sixers their 2019 1st so they can't trade 3 future 1sts.  They could only trade the 2021 and 2023 1sts but they could do pick swaps.

I can't help but wonder if Philly fans were in such a hurry to trade Simmons before they drafted him. Or if Minnesota fans were eager to trade Towns before they picked him. Or Washington fans with Wall. Or Cavs fans with Kyrie.

Is this a Celticsblog thing to finally, nab a #1 pick and want to trade it or is it prevalent everywhere? I just can't help but wonder....

It's just some Celtics fans, not all. And no way Sac offers that. They know they will still suck for a while.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

No thank you.  This is just fantasy talk.  There's no deal worth Fultz unless we are getting a star back - that means KAT or Anthony Davis or we hang up the phone.

Did you realize even if we get 3 future 1st round picks from the Kings, the chances of those picks not being the #1 overall pick are much lower than them ever matching the pick we currently have?

Did you also realize we will also have a top 5 pick next year from the Nets?  This makes zero sense.  NONE at all.  Just idle fantasies.

And do you realize that the Warriors built there core unit with picks. #7 Curry #11 Thompson and #35 Green?

The deal won't happen but to suggest it doesn't make any sense, well doesn't make much sense.

I mean that offer is too unbelievably out of control to ever pass up.  You have to take it.

I think IF we are even considering dealing the pick, it will be contingent on specific guys being available at both 5 and 10.

You would have to take it and you would never get it.

I wonder how many superstars have played on 9-22 teams?

Well lets see. Ant Davis won 11 games as a HS senior. He then goes to Kentucky and loses 1 game. Did he somehow become the ultimate winner or did he go to a team with other great players that could help him win. Fultz won alot in HS and went to a terrible team that lost a ton of talent. His team sucked. Does that make him a loser?

at team USA he was lauded for his clutch play and his coaches said that he was one of the few guys who gets better with more on the line. He was the MVP of the tournament and the USA won.

Do you have examples of superstars that played on 9-22 college teams?
