Fultz,Zizic,Yabusele,Jaylen,Nader,Rozier,Marcus------Horford,Avery,Isaiah,Crowder,Kelly,Free Agent

Not even close to top tier team without a Porzingis,Anthony Davis,Towns ,Giannis type talent in the mix

What crystal ball told you that Fultz or Brown aren't that kind of talent?

What is the common thread there?  Davis and Towns are centers.  Porzingis and Giannis are forwards.  Why not add Blake, Butler, George...

Horford,Avery,Isaiah,Crowder,Kelly,Free Agent is a bridge team to keep the C's comptetive/relevant with the hopes that in a few years the core players of Fultz,Zizic,Yabusele,Jaylen,Nader,Rozier,Marcus + 18 pick/FAs will have developed into a true tier one team.

I don't follow exactlyi what all you're saying, but Kevin Durant averaged 1 block a game before this season. He's never been an elite defender, but he's probably never played in an environment where it was emphasized til now.

GSW isn't great because of their bench. It helps, but obviously they're great because Durant and Curry are 2 of the top 5 players in the entire league. Without them, they'd be just another team.

Don't really get where you're going with this thread. We need an elite player. No kidding.  Obviously we don't have a top tier player at the moment, but many people think Fultz is going to be an elite player, and nothing says Yabu or Brown can't be as well. Your post leads me to believe you think none of those guys will be elite. Ainge likely thinks Fultz can be elite or he'd trade the pick.

So why bother being a fan if it's that futile? Why bother even following the game?

Durant has always been a pretty good defender.  Blocking shots is newer, but that doesn't mean much for a wing defender as they rarely block shots (Leonard for example averages .7 for his career and hit 1 just once).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

He also does not account for possible trade(s) or FA signings, so I am puzzled too.

I see Rollie's point. We still will lack athletic size, which is going to trend prominently in the coming seasons.  The GS Warriors realized it in going after Durant.  You can see the future stars of the NBA being really big guys, like Towns, Porzingis, and Davis.

Zizic is nice, but not in that category of athlete.

Am hoping the 2018 Nets pick will be the solution!!

Thats why it wouldnt break my heart to trade with Philly for Saric and the #3 pick n grab Jayson Tatum. Then that extra pick next year could get us Michael Porter and Mohamad Bamba.

Horford-Saric-Zizic-Bamba-Jaylen-Tatum-Porter, thats enough height if u ask me

That wasn't his point. Durant's been an ok defender, but the OP was pointing out Durant as a shot blocker, which is something he's never really been before.

I was commenting on your post.  Durant has always been a pretty good defender.  Even in OKC he was a pretty good defender.  This isn't some new thing, he is just on an elite defensive team so his pretty good defense is just more noticeable.

 tp thanks for that footey
--Watching Durant just made it so blatantly obvious-his length and ability to cover ground
Thats why the references to Porzingis ,Giannis,Embid,Towns all with, wingspan, ability to put ball on floor, shoot  and block shots
 and a
then the passing like Denvers Jokic
Zizic has height, length, motor but has never taken a three and only several mid range but he is only 20
Got a question ,how is Gordan Haywood going to help with no rim protector or rebounding power forward?Zizic even on 2nd team will be a foul magnet,Yabusele even with his bulk likes the perimeter and isn't mean
