I don't hear "I would love to play for the Celtics ", I hear " I would love to be the #1 pick"

The kid isn't even here yet, and Celtic fans are already criticizing him.
Sheesh.
Fultz is a true TRIPLE THREAT and a killer....we will love him.

Personally, I can't wait to see Fultz and Brown kill it this coming season.

TP !   well spoken .....forget he nay sayers

Yep, you're absolutely right.

Lets instead take the guy who "politely declined" a workout for the C's and has a dad who would wreak havoc on everyone and cause a headache.

To be fair though, I'll admit I did read his comments that way, but I mean unless you're from the city, I don't think many previous #1 hopefuls said, "I'd absolutely love to play for this organization/city only.."

I thought he was being humble. He is friends with IT for Christ s sake.

thats right .  tp...i don 't get the instant whining from people and the Kid is nt even here .....smh

Danny and staff need to  also ask him some tough question

an easy one: What part of your game do you need to work on??

and i hope his answer is defense, defense, defense

Maybe danny can reschedule Dennis Smith Jr workout and bring him in on Tuesday also  ;D

Who knows?  Maybe he's saying he would love to be the first pick because the Celts told him they might trade the pick for AD.

Interesting. So it's a two-day visit with meetings and everything on Monday and the actual workout on Tuesday. That's not the norm for Boston is it?

Danny must want a good long look at Markelle before being sure in his decision! Love it! Hopefully he tweets a "Celtic Pride" tweet similar to how Simmons tweeted out a "Trust the Process" tweet after his Philly workout last year, which would intimate a draft promise from Danny!
Just curious about the thinking here, why would ainge give a draft promise to Fultz?

Well, I'm not really meaning a "draft promise" that usually occurs for players later in the draft. I'm meaning just intimating to Fultz that we're going to take him with the first pick.

If we do that, then usually that means they don't workout for any other teams to not risk injury or anything. Didn't Simmons do that last year after working out with Philly?

There's also the "it's nice to feel wanted" factor, and the "I'm a straight shooter as a GM" factor, both of which build good will.

I mean if Fultz believes the second one maybe that's his problem, haha. But it can't hurt to try.

Can you blame him? Celtics would trade the pick in a heartbeat for the right player in return...
Celtics fan for life.

LOL give me a break dude.  He doesn't know who is taking him for sure he can't come out and just talk about the Celtics.  He has already talked about it multiple times positively if you did any research.

I recall Ainge told Marcus Smart that we would take him if he was available at #6.  But if I'm remembering correctly, that was after his 2nd workout with us (his 1st workout was horrible) and multiple other teams.

I don't think Fultz will end up working out for many teams anyway, but I agree.  As much as we can't pass on him, we can't let the Lakers have him.  Fultz has to be #1.
