Has there been any local media radio talk shows/sports columnists discussion and explanation for the Jekyll & Hyde nature of this team related to their Away Games (good starts, good shooting, defensive intensity) versus their Home Games (slow out of the blocks, horrid shooting, little defensive intensity) ?

I've never seen anything like it. It is usually the other way around - but this Celtics group is like two different teams, home & away. What is going on ?

Being good tends to lead to greater consistency.

The Celts are a very jumper reliant team.  Especially without Isaiah, there's no fall back option on offense.

So you're gonna be vulnerable to these wild swings due to the natural higher variance of jumpers.

Even the Warriors have guys who can get to the hoop when the outside shots aren't falling.  Plus relying on jumpers isn't so inconsistent when your main guys shoot 45-50%.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
How quickly we forget the series where the Cs won all four of their home games and lost all 3 of their away games.

I agree that this series has been a little bizarre, but I wouldn't exactly call it a season-long trend.

We won a game when several guys were uncharacteristically hot in their shooting.   Tonight we are not hot, and we usually have struggled to score at times.

I still think there is a talent discrepancy between the league in general and the two super teams

  • GOT IT!!!
Scoring improved this season but still has a ways to go. Hopefully the C's have two guys coming in that will fix that.

I didn't say season-long trend, just playoffs ........... and the Celts did get off to slow starts at home vs Washington.
