This could be almost as big as the lottery for the Celtics.

Ainge, Hayward, and George will definitely be on pins and needles tonight.

Quote
The All-NBA First Team also features three players who were each selected to the First Team for the second time: Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook, who joined James in totaling 99 First Team votes and 498 points, San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard (96 First Team votes, 490 points) and New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis (45 First Team votes, 343 points).

The All-NBA Second Team includes three players making their All-NBA debuts: Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert and Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas.  They are joined by two Golden State Warriors, guard Stephen Curry (fourth All-NBA selection) and forward Kevin Durant (seventh All-NBA selection).

The All-NBA Third Team consists of forwards Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls and Draymond Green of the Warriors, guards DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors and John Wall of the Washington Wizards and center DeAndre Jordan of the LA Clippers.  Butler, DeRozan and Wall are first-time All-NBA selections.  Green was named All-NBA for the second time, while Jordan earned his third All-NBA honor.

congrats to IT4

I personally would go George, Butler, Hayward Derozan.

Although this past season butler was the best of the 4.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Why? He is signed through 2019-20 with a player option for 2020-21.

We all knew he was All-NBA 1st team worthy already.

My observations:
1) Davis is a forward not a center
2) Cousins continues to get disrespected.
3) If Embiid stays healthy next season, he's a shoo-in to make all NBA.

I agree, but two years down the road? I think the door opens.

2 more years of being horrible even with Boogie will cause tension.

No Warriors on the 1st team and only 3 made any team so no 4 All NBA players as I predicted. Just too hard to get the stays with 4 great players.

And they really should just eliminate the center spot.  I mean I lije Gobert and Jordan but they don't belong on these teams ahead of guys like Hayward, George, Irving, etc.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I think Gobert belongs on a team over those guys. Deandre JOrdan not so much.

I can think of several players that deserve this over Butler including Hayward & George. I am glad Butler made it instead though because it improves our chances of getting Hayward.

Hayward is the best player on the Jazz yet he didn't make any team while his teammate was on the 2nd team, it just doesn't make any sense
