Let Brown backup Crowder and let Jerebko and KO backup Amir. The small lineup doesn't work against Cleveland, because Love and Lebron can post up well.
And try a full court press.
Cleveland doesn't really handle the ball all that well when pressured.

Its the opposite actually. We just tried going big against them and got destroyed. We matched up better when we went small.

Hit the multiple open shots they missed early will go a big way to helping.

This isn't college. With James and Irving, plus the shooting they have, this is a recipe for disaster filled with dunks/layups and threes.

One of the best ways to break the press is to have a big or forward bring the ball in the middle. With Lebron this strategy is even more effective. Its going to be layup galore.

TP!
Full court press is a good tactic against low BBIQ players that lack the foot speed to break the press or if not that to surprise a team for a possession or 2 and maybe force a TO. When you have the Jules Verne-like manchild in LBJ and Kyrie, 3rd press finishes with someone hanging on our rim within a few secs.

How was that different from last night?

I too would like to see more pressure on the ball... it can't be Lebron at the top of the key, defender 5 steps away allowing him to gather steam and drive down hill into the heart of our defense without a rim protector. Maybe not full court press, but at the very least halfcourt traps on Lebron to force him to play off the ball... we can handle Kyrie's ball handling. But Horford/KO on LBJ at the top of the key was embarrasing.

Gotta go small. Our bigs are too slow to defend on all of the switches.

Horford  KO
Crowder  Smart
Brown  Green
Bradley  Rozier
IT

Switch everything, try to trap LeBron and get the ball out of his hands. Continue to use Smart against Tristan as much as possible to wrestle him out of the paint.

On offense, you have 5 shooters on the court, make Kyrie and Love defend. Spread them out and move the ball around.

Not really. Cleveland doesn't have a true point guard.

I think Stevens had the game plan right...he wasn't shooting the ball. His team shot 30% in the first qtr and Cav's shot 58% or so.

3 for 16 from 3 early in the game? Hey, the Sixers would've been up on us by 19 with that performance.

This is how the Celtics have beat the Cavs the few times they have over the last couple of years.

Get hot from three and frustrate LBJ. Hope that Love and Kyrie have below average games or get hurt.

Take the game down to the last three seconds and find somebody anybody open in the corner for a three as the clock expires.

You think muscling up underneath with the Cav's is gonna work? Not with this roster it isn't.

The Boston Celtics are a solid perimeter team. They hit their threes and they will be in the game at the end.

I'm praying they win one of these and it won't be because they played some kind of lock down defense...they need some help from LBJ's co stars.
