To Knicks: Crowder, Zeller, AB, 2017 1st
To Celtics: Melo, Porzingis, 2017 8th pick

Celts draft Monk with the 8th pick

Horford
Porzingis
Anthony
Smart
IT4

KO/Zizic
Yabu
Brown
Monk
Rozier

This lineup could be Celts best chance to beat the Cavs.  And probably only mega trade  option available

I think Phil is so sick and tired of Melo, he would include Porzingis to get rid of him.  Plus Porzingis did not leave the team on a good note.

Melo big contract sukks, plus his lackluster defense makes you angry...but he can still light up the scoreboard. Create his own shot.  A vet like Horford would keep him in check.  Marcus Smart, Brown etc can bail him out on defense..

Porzingis is one of the brightest up and coming PFs in the league... in the same conversation as Davis and Towns  (just a notch below)

Big help for IT4, Horford

yay or nay?

Nay. I love Porzingod and I'm not averse to landing Melo but I'm just really not a fan of trading away Fultz. I get that he won't come in and be a world beater but the dude is going to be legit in all likelihood. I think in 3 years, him, Brown and (don't laugh) Smart are going to be a force. Fultz may very well be an all star in 3 years as well.

The only problem with 3 years is... it's still 3 years away.

I'd rather make a smaller deal and try to land Melo.

I get it about Fultz potential.. but if you want to win "now"
A trade like this gives the Celts a shot to beat the Cavs

Otherwise if you draft Fultz... IT4, Horford turn into bridge players... You need to wait it out until Lebron loses an edge due to age

Porzingis and Melo are not enough to get Boston past Cleveland. Especially not with Avery and Crowder heading the other way.

You got to be realistic sir... Cant keep all due to cap restrictions. And its not like nyc are giving porzingis away

Melo and porzingis avg like 18-20 ppg each... At any pt either can burst for 30

Crowder and AB are role players.... Smart and Brown can replace their impact

A lot of people on this board believe that IT, Crowder, Bradley, and possibly Horford, given his age, are bridge players.

The future big three are the Brooklyn picks.  Brown looks like the real deal, Fultz looks like he is for real, and the 2018 Brooklyn pick looks to be top 5 in a draft with some nice big men.

Well will need to wait 3 more years then

Porzingis and 8 are likely better than Fultz long term.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I think landing a guy like Melo for lesser pieces like Crowder and Rozier (and Mickey and filler) and a late 1st gives us a decent shot, especially if we could land a decent big (like RoLo or Kyle O Quinn or anybody that can actually grab a rebound) in FA (or for a smaller trade using the LAC/MEM pick or something).

Start IT-Bradley-Brown-Melo-Horford
with Smart-Fultz-Rebounder off the bench as a main 8, and then a smattering of other role players to fill in the rotation depending on the match up (Zizic? can we keep Jerebko for cheap? Or maybe play James Young a few mpg?)

I really think the C's are a scorer and a physical rebounder away from being legit. Meanwhile, in a few years, the team will be a terror once Smart/Brown/Fultz come into their own.
