We are a defensive rebounding big away from being legitimate title contenders. We don't need any more guards or small forwards.  How about this idea?

Trade Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller to Detroit for Andre Drummond and their 12th pick in this draft. If we have to add another pick to make it happen do it. This gives us a complete team that can win it all.

Thoughts?

Drummond does not have that type of value. As a player or a trade asset.

Drummond does not have that type of value because his defense is more good than great and his offense is extremely limited. A non-passer. A dodgy post game. No scoring outside of 5 feet from the basket. Terrible FT shooter. His rebounding is superb but Drummond needs to bring more to the table on offense & defense along with that rebounding to be worth parting with a #1 pick for.

I am happy to trade the #1 pick for a big man but the only big men I can think of with enough talent for that to be worthwhile are Anthony Davis and Karl Anthony Towns.

I can see  the argument for Porzingis but I am not wholly convinced on that. I think most of the other top big men are too old or are not talented enough. Actually, maybe Nikola Jokic. He is very skilled and still young. Jokic would be a great fit in this offense. He is one I would consider as well (but, like Porzingis, still leaning more towards Fultz).

Oh, and Draymond Green. Add him to AD and Towns grouping.

No need to.

I still believe Nikola Vučević can be gotten from the Magic and the C's have the assets to do it.  They can package players and picks from their stockpile (2018 Nets, 2018 C's, Clips and Memphis, all 1st's).

I think this could also still net us Hayward as a FA.

Naw, just sign Blake Griffin and keep Fultz as IT's replacement.  ;)

Outside of Anthony Davis, I really don't see how we can give up the number 1 pick.

The C's do not need a franchise big to be able to rebound in today's NBA. They can find competent big men for a lot cheaper than that.

As much as I love AD I would rather stick to Fultz and Bkn 18.

Yeah. We don't need a 14 pt 14 rebounding 7 footer. Please. Then we still get the 12th pick in a deep draft and maybe throw a flier out on a guy like Giles. We instead need one more guard who isn't going to see the floor much his rookie year. For a guy who can't score, fifty percent from the floor and 14 pts a game seems pretty nice. Him at center with Hoford at the four solves our huge rebounding problem. This team could win a title.
