I wouldn't rule anything out.   Hayward is  still a maybe.  He definately can score the basketball.  For Crowder and Bradley it's a maybe.  I think the combination of Fultz, Bradley and Crowder has some issues with it long term that can be questioned.  I edited my earlier post and removed that part that was my frist statement was for bradley and crowder maybe. I'll stand by that.

As far as minutes and production we might be able to get more out of Hayward then we would out of Crowder and Bradley and play Fultz more off the bat.

I'm not sure Ainge is going to want to shake things up that much though. I'm still in wait and see mode at this point.

I think that is unlikely though because why would Utah do that as well.  I wouldnt give them next years pick for Hayward.  Maybe memphis's pick.

I thnk hayward also is a free agent.  It just seems unlikely right now but ainge if there is a way he'll find it. I wouldnt give up a ton for Hayward.

We are in better position right now with bradley crowder and all these picks coming up.

I'm always hesistant on guys like Hayward because why make that move when we are in better position possibly to get better than that. We make that move.  Then we have Hayward.  But I wouldnt move too many assets to sell ourselves short.

This is what Ainge means when he says he isn't going to sacrifice the future for the present. That's his genius amongst other things and  just being able to find the players he does.

SL discussed this in another thread today (and many of us have been talking about this very issue for months), but the basic premise is that to sign Hayward and keep KO, Bradley would need to be moved for a pick in a future draft.

First off, let me join the chorus of those saying I love Avery and wish he could stay a Celtic to the end.  I love his attitude and work ethic and he's a top-quality 3-and-D that works perfectly within the Cs system.

That said ... if we have to move him, what about doing another deal with Doc?

Doc loves Avery.  We could ask LA to take the protections off the 2019 LAC pick we already have plus they would add in another future pick.  They could send us Pierce' non-guaranteed 3.7M and one of their cheap contracts as the salary match (they have to send out salary).  Maybe we could get some other team to take in that other contract.

Obviously, Doc may not be the GM there much longer so maybe this is moot.  And they obviously have big questions they have to answer with Chris Paul & Blake Griffin before they know what they are doing.   But if they do re-sign CP, you'd think putting Avery on the floor next to him would be an attractive idea.

Just brain storming.   There is probably a giant flaw in that somewhere and certainly I'm glossing over details.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.

Don't share this point. Bradley is the kind of player that makes you win series guarding Curry, Irving or Beal. We need a VERY GOOD defender at SG to hide Isaiah, if he is not the odd man out now with Fultz.

I think trading IT is the smarter course. AB is a 2-way player - an easier guy to plug in as we continue adding talent.  IT is a one-way extreme usage guy who can't add defense with any decrease in offensive responsibility and is unlikely to take kindly to a significant change in role.

Fultz/AB/Hayward is more balanced than IT/Fultz/Hayward.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

IT is too ingrained on this team at this point.   These guys play for IT.  Even with Fultz here this is IT's team at this point.  It became that this season.

He's also ingrained on this team in a positive sense.  Not a negative one. Fultz can rise up and be that too with him and even after he's gone but right now IT is too important.  It would take somehing shocking for IT to be traded.

We have options right now. In a year IT could walk if things go wrong or if DA does not want to sign IT to a certain contract bc Fultz does extremely well and DA thinks that Fultz and Brown's time has come and are ready to start the 2018/2019 season.

If things go terribly wrong next season, IT will be traded at the deadline; no way does he walk for nothing. I am sure there will be a team at or near the cap that would love to sign him using Bird Rights. DA won't get full value, of course, but a couple of picks/young players would be better than nothing.
