And we most likely grab fultz, somebody has to go.  Maybe not next year, and maybe not via trade, but fultz, smart, Avery, IT, and Rozier are more than we need.

The easy answer I guess is rozier doesn't play while we figure things out.  Can't imagine he has much trade value.  Smart and definitely Avery has value so could explore trades there.  IT?  Don't think I could pull the trigger there.

Trading Bradley makes the most sense.

Three guard rotation of Thomas, Smart, Fultz.

Rozier as the 4th guard.

You say that like we're letting a "scrub" go for a star...  :o

Tough internal decisions to make this summer..  :(

IT is a keeper no doubt though.  ;D

I tend to agree with this and I'm a big Avery Bradley fan. But I wouldn't mind making a run at Hayward and moving Bradley + 2018 BOS + something else to get a decent big man in the house.
Jaylen Brown will be an All Star in the next 5 years.

I'd characterize it more liking upgrading a really good player to a better one, plus getting assets back for AB.

Rozier as the 4th guard.

Rozier is too good to be a 4th guard. He will need to be traded sometime soon as well.

i'm guessing we stay home and take fultz but there are serious wildcards.  Tatum is sort of that.  I look at it that we have IT, Horford and Crowder who are sort of aging.  Not really but 3 or 4 years down the road we need guys who can step in and play with them in the interm.  Bradley is also a wildcard in ways.  I'm not sure Ainge moves any of these guys though. It's set up so nice because we can pretty much do anything.  I really hope we keep Smart, KO, and Jaylen for the future though and Rozier.  Terry could be dealt maybe but I honestly have no idea.  I'll just wait and see what Ainge does on this one.  I like Jackson and Isaac.  Per usual I will  be happy with what Ainge decides to do. That's my baseline right now though.

Ball vs Fultz is also an interesting debate.  I wouldn't rule out Ball or anything right this second.

I look at it that we have that card to play but why  not just keep it. It's a good position to be in.  Getting guys playing time might be an issue but with roster moves we might be able to go with an even deeper rotation and let a few guys go like Amir, Jerebko etc and even maybe Gerald. Replace them with Zizic and Yab  or a free agent and whoever we take.

I think Rozier still has 2 years on his deal. They have some time to use his cheap salary until the big parts of the roster are filled out, It will be interesting to see how the guard rotation plays out if the draft Fultz. I think AB is the odd man out unfortunately.

Bradley has been our best rebounder from the guard position. It works.  AB is one of my favorite celtics.  The C's need another scorer and rebounder though.  KO is coming. Horford is good and has been well worth the money already . Yab and Zizic are coming.  Thing is the way the celtics play and compliment each other is also a strength.  IT is still going to be the catalyst for a long time.

AB has gotten better every year he has been in the league.  He is reaching his ceiling but will continue to become even more consistant imo.

I definately don't hope we trade AB.   So many guys on this team you can consider the heart of it.  IT, Smart, Bradley, Crowder come to mind.  All of them are really that in some regard why we are so good.  All team oriented guys too. IT is the one guy that really stands out right now.

I like how Bradley plays.  He is a great team guy.  Smart is going to keep getting better as an enforcer too. He's a really good rebounder too and bigger than AB where he can really muscle guys for rebounds in clutch situations and is going to keep getting better.   But bradley is so quick and active in different ways.

They can't let go of Rozier. He only makes 5 million total for the next two seasons. For a team that will be over the cap soon, they need as many of those cheapo deals as possible.

That leaves Smart or Bradley. Their deals are both up after next year. We know what Bradley is at this point. The question is about Smart - will he improve? He hasn't made any large improvements since he's been here, and that's troubling. Remember, he came out as a sophomore, not a freshman.

The other question is, would either be happy stepping aside for Fultz? Bradley is still in his peak and I'm not sure he would take a drop in minutes so well. For Smart, I wonder if he wouldn't rather go to a team where he has a shot at being a lead guard. If he stays here he will forever be the backup PG/defensive specialist off the bench.

They may have to deal Smart anyway if they want to sign a max free agent, so that would solve the problem temporarily.

No wildcards.

When you have the #1 overall pick, you don't worry about needs and which rookie fits in best with your veterans.

Fultz is the best prospect and it isn't close.

Why would you trade a solid player with a low salary for the next few years unless you're getting something good in return?

Hasn't ainge already shown that he does not want cousins on the Celtics?
