Given the recent talk on here about how bad mainstream sports talk has become (especially ESPN), I thought it'd be interesting to see which sports personalities and/or broadcasters posters on here liked or disliked the most.

My dislikes:
Marcellus Wiley (Sportsnation)
Jaylen Rose
Amin El-Hassan (The Jump)
Bomani Jones
Stephen A. Smith
Skip Bayless
Reggie Miller

My likes:
Michael Wilbon
Rachel Nichols
Brent Barry
Chris Webber
Isiah Thomas
Kenny Smith
Ernie Johnson

Generally, I enjoy NBATV and NBA on TNT much more than ESPN.

Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I hate Mark Jackson, Skip Bayless, and especially NICK WRIGHT.

I understand being a fan and advocate of a particular player, but Nick Wright's obsession with Lebron James is borderline unhealthy.

Call me crazy, but I'd also add Max and Shaq to the likes in terms of Celtics.

They give the C's credit when they deserve it and are fair about them overall.

I DISLIKE Windhorst though. We get it, you're from Akron, and you LOVE Lebron. But man he just rips every other team and player for no reason when defending the Cavs and praising them.

Really like Greg Anthony, Chris Webber, The entire TNT crew of Shaq/Kenny/Charles/EJ

Mark Jackson SUCKS (always giving "Credit"--and proclaiming guys "Greatest of all time"--Jackass)...
Hubie Brown (Mr. Read the stat sheet all game long) is awful.

Reggie Miller must be the biggest TOOL in NBA History---so fake and phony, begging for street cred.

Chauncey Billups is good.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

I actually noticed Greg Anthony's commentary in this last series.  I thought he was pretty good, and unbiased.

I greatly dislike Jeff Van Gundy.

I feel like the problem with him is sometimes he just advocates for ridiculous stuff during a game that just sounds.. ridiculous.

But to be fair, he at least provides some humor in the ABC crew. If it was just Mark Jackson....  :o

I don't really know one from the other, so I'll go local.

I can't stand Tangway or Felger. Two hateable schmucks. Felger just has to be negative and Tangway, oy, knows nothing about sports and has zero personality.
Not a big fan of A Sherrod, just because for being the Celtics insider, he never has any inside info. Actually most of the time, he's completely wrong

On the good side, love Gorman. Knowledgeable, not full of himself, and has good insight.
I'm coming around to Scal. He knows the game, is somewhat objective, and explains some of the X's and O's of the game..
And of course Tommy, cuz he's Tommy

We should do this for who is your favorite and least favorite poster on Celtics Blog and why. That would be an absolute hoot. Also I really wish we could bring back negative tommy points.

I originally hated on Greg Anthony during the Celtics/Wiz series cause of how much he was wearing John Walls shorts over his head - but that was company protocol, and it dawned on me while listening to him in game 7 how informative and impartial he was. Questioned calls for both teams. Overall, I'd most all of the TNT crew is bearable besides Reggie Miller and most of the ESPN crew unbearable (big surprise) besides Wilbon and Billups.

Shaq and Barkley are horrible. They don't say anything worthwhile. Kenny Smith is pretty decent.

Greg Anthony did a very good job on the Celts-Wiz series. Very neutral, fair.

TNT has to get a better studio panel.  It is just dreadful.

Negative TPs was a massive fail. It's a great way to get people to never come back to CB again.

We have had a couple of threads throughout the years of favorite posters (not least favorite). It's been a while, though, and might be a good thread to bring back this summer. You can be in charge of that clay  :D

As for sports personalities, I generally prefer the ones who are well-prepared and take their jobs seriously and aren't just on because they once played a sport or are loud/obnoxious. There are former athletes who do a solid job, but I get a little annoyed that they are really the only ones ever considered for analyst gigs.

Ernie Johnson is pretty solid. Shaq/Barkley can be rough, but they are like the biggest personalities in the history of the NBA - TNT knows people want to be entertained. Kenny is the best pure analyst of the three...obviously.
