I do think it's possible that we're all overrating Cleveland a bit. Indiana is a very bad team, and Lowry was injured/not right for most of the Toronto series. Could be more competitive than we'd expect.

I think we're giving too much credit to the Cavs. Being in a 7th game and a tough series we saw a team grow up in front of us.

I think above all else we are fighting the NBA, media and fans who have already penciled in the Cavs vs Warriors Final. It will take a monumental effort to overcome that narrative. I do know this team only plays when they face adversity and it gets no bigger than this. They don't handle prosperity very well.

Just prepare yourselves for phantom calls and non-calls.I believe this team plays hard enough to win but their error for margin is very very small.

I wouldn't underestimate Brad Stevens if I were some. The guy just knows X's and O's and will find a way to give Lebron his and keep everyone else in check.

I'm convinced Isaiah is playing hurt. He has slowed down a lot.  For that reason only, I think that the Cavs win in 4 or 5.  If Isaiah was healthy, I think we could take the Cavs to 7 games, who wins would be toss up.

I mean I could see us getting swept but I highly doubt it.

My prediction is we win game 1(due to rust) and Cavs win games 2,3 & 4. We win game 5 at home but Cavs win the series in 6.

If the series goes 7 games, I'm convinced  we would win  ;D

been saying all year, this team lives by the jumper and dies by the jumper.  when they're on, they can beat anyone including cleveland.  when they're off, they can lose to anyone.

I would anticipate at least one of the first 4 games to be an 'on' game for them.

that said, if KO has finally gotten it into his head how he needs to play night in and night out and Jae/Smart/AB aren't all bricking it up on the same night, C's have the depth to make this an interesting series.  they have enough bodies to throw at Kyrie and Lebron on D.  A 'good' KO will make Love work on D and take him away from the boards for rebounding (or Thompson but I'd think he'd be on Al nearer the post) so C's could give the Cavs a real run.

Dunc'd On is an independent NBA podcast done by Nate Duncan and Danny Laroux.  It is my favorite NBA podcast and definitely worth a listen to see if it is your cup of tea.

Right now they are mostly doing recaps of the previous days playoff games along with team by team offseason previews.  At other points of the year though, they also do things like a mock trade deadline and mock offseason where they have podcast members take on the role of pretend GM of the 30 nba teams and predict how they'd like to see things play out.

People are too pessimistic about our chances, and they're wildly overrating the Cavs due to their posteseason record.

This will be a competitive 6 or 7 game series. Book it.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Probably the single best NBA podcast (Lowe Post the other candidate) hosted by Danny Leroux and Nate Duncan.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

I agree...but if we can't steal game 1 due to their rustiness then look out for a sweep or 4-1 series.
Win games 1 and 2 close because its homecourt then being up 2-0 gives this team a tremendous boost of confidence they probably but not expectedly might win 1 in Cleveland which gives them the best chance of stretching the series to 7 games where Game 7 is in the Garden and win or lose that one gives me confidence that this team will be contending for years specially when Lebron gets old and a new powerhouse in the East would emerge..hopefully that will be us.

I am going out on a limb and say it will be a 7 game series that either team could win. Key for Celtics is letting Lebron get his, mostly from the outside and trying to shut down everyone else. Cleveland will try not to double IT right away but as he kills them that will change mid series.

Cleveland has by far the best player in the series and I think most non-Celtic fans would also argue Cleveland has the 2nd best player in the series.  Cleveland won the season series 3-1.  Cleveland has had a cakewalk and lots of rest.  Cleveland has won the East the last two seasons and is the defending NBA champion.

I wouldn't be surprised if Boston was swept, but do expect them to win a game or two.

Definitely disagree with this. IT has been mentioned as a probable top 5 finisher and has had some huge high profile playoff games on National TV that have really raised his star level. Perhaps super casual fans would give the nod to Irving over IT, but people following closely would be hard pressed to do that right now.

I mean IT has playoff games of 33, 33, 53 and 29 with big shot after big shot including last night in a close out game. Irving has played fine but had one game of 37 and has largely been overshadowed by Lebron's play. You also throw in the fact that Thomas scored at a higher rate, had slightly more assists and less turnovers and it hasn't really been that close. So yea, casual fans that tuned in for last year's finals may give Irving a nod. Those that seriously followed the game this year would not (outside of Cleveland of course lol).

By the way, Cleveland is a 3.5 point favorite for the game tomorrow. By comparison the Warriors were 10 point favorites over the Spurs in game 1 when Kawaii was playing.

Yes but you're ignoring the fact that Cleveland is on the road, and Golden State was at home.  If game 1 were in Cleveland, you could add another 4 points to that.
