Kelly Olynyk finally grows into his body.
It takes big white guys a little longer to do that. It truly does, as many of us know from painful personal experience.
Kelly's always shown flashes, and he's never been as bad as his critics allege.
A fair and accurate assessment of him has always been complicated by his tendency to do good things without looking very good doing them and sometimes downright bad, but never as bad as he looks sometimes yet bad enough that instead of getting his due, he gets blasted. And, he's got that sort of laid-back, hippie look and demeanor that don't go down too well around here after a sub-par performance.
I've always thought Brad should be playing him more and wonder if some of his perceived inconsistency is due to not being managed/motivated better by the coaching staff.
Hopefully, last night was the start of a new chapter for Kelly, and the Cs. We all know that when he plays well, the Celtics are a different and far more dangerous club.
Apparently, the bounce is real. It sure came in handy last night.
