So we're debating which of two role players will be better.  When we get Fultz neither Smart or Rozier will matter much.  In any case, Rozier will still be a backup PG in two years so Smart's defense will still be more valuable.
Both will matter even if we land Fultz which is FAR from a sure thing
I've decide to be positive about getting Fultz until the lottery.  When we get Fultz, he'll should be the backup PG from day one.  So why would Rozier matter other than as trade filler?  Smart will have his role but I'd expect him to lose minutes to Fultz and hopefully Brown too.

There's pretty much no chance Fultz is currently better then Smart or Rozier.  Lets see Fultz in the NBA before we even bother with that discussion.

Im going with Terry because he has elite quickness/speed and jumping.

So if we do get the #1 pick and take Fultz, what does that mean for the trade return on our other guards?  Are we going to be limited in trade value because the whole league knows we need to offload some guards?  And probably valuable talented guards at that.

I love Smart and his defense and overall hustle, but I have to go with Rozier here. I think he just has a higher ceiling, and will keep improving offensively and defensively every year. The guy is just so athletic, he gets to the rim pretty easily just has trouble finishing, and it looks like he's go an extra gear on defense (versatile on defense too). I very possibly could be too high on Rozier, but I think someday he might become more than just a role-player.

Definitely close though, they're both going to be important players for us in on way or another, I hope we keep em. Smart, Rozier, Brown + our pick is a solid young core that's helping us now, getting experience and that will make us legit for years and years.

Not only would I not say no chance, I'd bet that even at his fultz, fultz is a better offensive player than both smart and rozier.

We are just gonna trot out three guards regularly alll the time so even if we get Fultz there wont be a problem. Everything Is Fine! Rozier and Smart will both be great and we will keep them. YAY

IT - Rozier - Jackson
Bradley - Fultz - Who-am-I-missing?
Brown - Smart - Jerebko?
Crowder - Olynyk - Yabusele?
Horford - Zizic - Amir?

And its not a risky bet.  He's probably far better than both put together.

If Smart keeps packing on weight and Rozier can become more consistent, especially shooting, it could be Rozier. But I still have to say Smart. But.....

Smart has started to plateau I feel. TR in two years, given what he has shown this season, could be a really dangerous offensive player.

I give it to Rozier but not by much. Smart still has plenty of potential and already does a lot of things at a great level.

Marcus is one skill away from being a starter. He needs to either consistently get to the line through driving to the hoop or he needs to finally develop a consistent 3 point shot.

Rozier needs to improve everything to get to that point. He has the athleticism but needs to better use it, he has a good shot already and he's active as a defender. He too needs to develop a driving game and he probably needs to be less of a hot head too.

Right now I'd say Smart is closer to achieving that than Rozier. One factor that may affect it is cost. Rozier has an extra year on his rookie deal.

Almost definitely Smart.

Rozier seems to get a pass from some people who appear to think that, given more minutes, he would only produce like his highlights. But let's not forget that Rozier played about the same amount as Jaylen this season and shot .367 from the floor and .318 from three.

He's an incredibly athlete and he's shot better in the postseason but if we're looking at the entire sample size, there isn't a lot of reason to think Rozier will be better.

Think about how ridiculous that sounds.

Marcus has had 3 years, and this guy cant even shoot 37%, complete trash

Now you want to rag on Rozier's season. No doubt 100% in my mind Rozier will be shooting better than Marcus next year. No doubt.

If by "rag on" you mean "state his percentages" then, ok.

Part of me thinks if Stevens had just decided to give all Smart's minutes this year to Rozier and Smart had only played Rozier's minutes Rozier would be further along and the better player, but he'd also be making enough mistakes and having enough problems we'd be calling for more Smart. The grass is always greener somewhere else.

Wrong

Fultz has both beat on the offensive end

Especially Smart.

Rozier is becoming a solid shooter but cant make baskets near the net.  Its shaky at best

Smart is a streaky shooter .. unreliable streaky shooter

Fultz can shoot with a face in his hand. He has all sorts of ways to score around th basket .... Just needs to tighten up on the FT line

Just hope it wont be the nets
