I went with absolutely not. This is not to say that Marcus cannot be a very good player, but he needs to learn to step into his shot and be strong going to the hoop. He always looks so timid on any shot he takes making it mostly a prayer that it will go in.

Even if we call defense a wash, Marcus has a long way to go before he becomes the player the Cs set double and triple picks for in order to get him an open jumper.

This is actually a really good poll. It helps put into perspective which players are more valuable going forward. I like both players and feel they each bring things to the success of this years team. It may be slightly unfair to compare them as they do have somewhat different roles, pg vs sg. They are both great defensively, albeit in different ways. AB's man to man defense is crucial in the guard driven current NBA and the heavy iso playoffs. Smarts gritty team defense and ability to cause havoc on multiple player types is great too but probably easier to find in your junkyard dog type player. Offensively, AB can get buckets off screens, spot up, and cuts to the basket. Smart.... well.... he has improved as a passer and playmaker for others, something AB doesn't do, and the hope is that he can be a spot up shooter and get back to his college prowess of bulling his way to the basket for scores and trips to the foul line. But, there is no question AB is miles above Smart offensively and it is probably just wishful thinking to believe Smart could become as effective, even in his own offensive style, as AB.

I really like Smart and want him on this team. I want AB to be Celtic lifer.  I want the #1pick. I want to sign a big time free agent. I want to add higher quality big man depth. Unfortunately, all these things probably aren't possible....  so, which want do you let go?

Yeah. Avery has improved but he still can't handle pressure from a defender at all.

 Bradley broke out in year four to 15ppg. Bradley shoots a better % from the floor, but Smart is the more well rounded player in year three.

 9.2 ppg 2.2 rpg 2.1 apg 1.3 SPG

 Smart
 10.6 ppg 3.9 rpg 4.6 APG 1.6 spg

 If Smart can get his 3p% back to where it was his rookie year .335% we could see him go for.

 15ppg 6apg 5rpg 1.8spg Keep Smart around and keep hoping that all the three he's already taken Somehow helps him become a better shooter.

 This isn't true, Much better passer and rebounder at the Same age. Big props to Avery for doubling his career rebounding numbers this year.

Have you ever seen Smart dribble right past a good defender into the paint and then get it past yet another decent defender to get it in the basket? Avery is a million times more likely to do that. Because he's the better ball handler.
