Avery should be out of the question. And I'm talking about him overall, not because of the last two games.
Bradley is injury-prone, inconsistent, and a year away from a 20+ million dollar deal.

Hes not untouchable. No way.

I haven't said he's untouchable, you can read me again. He can be moved to have the right player, but not for Butler.
Yeah, I figured as much, I also dont think hes off the table for Butler. Butler is a much more valuable player than Bradley.

+1. I would not trade Avery in a deal for butler at all at this point. Avery seems to be in the cusp of borderline all star status. Maybe reluctantly in a deal for George if we already have Hayward but not for butler.

As an aside, I think Fox is the most underrated prospect in this years class. I think he has John Wall type potential.
fox is quite the talent, i agree he is very good. he owned ball in their match up in the playoffs.

most of all, the complaint about fox has been his shooting, which was very poor early in the season. but it did improve.

please keep in mind this is a small sample size, but fox shot 37.5 percent from 3 over his last 15 games of the year, and an impressive 47.4 percent in his last 10 games.

fox also shot 73 percent from the free throw line for the season.

my point here is similar to one i made for jackson, they each started the season shooting god-awfully. by the end of the season, they were both very good at 3 pointers.

is this a fluke or did they figure out how to shoot? jackson just turned 20, fox is still 19. it is really possible that they have, will, become good shooters.

if jackson can shoot 3 pointers at 37% or higher, which he did for the final part of the season, how valuable is he?

if fox can shoot 3 pointers at 37% or higher, which he did for the final part of the season, how valuable is he?

this is what the scouts, Ainge, and other have to decide. honestly, if it were me, i would take fox over ball in the draft. fox is really really a great player aside from his shooting. if he solves that, he will be good.

I think they just got hot. Either that or their driving abilities forced college defenders to back off them so much that they had a ton of easy looks.

Justice Winslow shot like 40% in college too. It was a fluke. I think the same can be said for these guys shooting.

He is great but if he solves his shooting he will be good? Is he better than Smart? Isn't that the ONLY negative to Smart's game? Smart solved his free throw shooting for the season (although it has dropped in the playoffs).

I'd bet on Fox becoming a good shooter long before Jackson. Fox doesn't have the fundamental flaws that Jackson has, and Jackson was like Dwight Howard from the FT line whereas Fox was better than Fultz/Ball from the line (both supposedly better shooters)

I think it's Phoenix wanting Butler, they have a hole at the SF spot and definitely have the young guys and picks to make an intriguing package

Butler is now represented by WME, who also represents Lebron's entertainment side of his portfolio.

Point being, Butler would be p---ed off to be sent to the Suns and any player represented by WME would have to think twice about continuing such a relationship IF they allow a STAR to get traded to a pitiful team like the Phoenix Suns!!!!  Also, other NBA stars would think twice about signing with WME!!!

Smitty77
I think a Bledsoe Booker Butler Chriss Chandler lineup is pretty beastly.  That's at least a playoff team with room ro improve as Chriss and Booker continue to develop (Chandler can be replaced by Len as he ages even more)

So, what are they sending to CHI for Butler? Bender, Ulis and a 1st? You need some bench too.
Yeah I think it would be Ullis, the 17 pick and Bender. They still have Knight and Len as bench players. For wings they could certainly sign some 3 and D guys in FA.

WHY would the Suns trade for a guy that just has ankle surgery and will be out for 12 weeks minimum??

http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2017/5/10/15618828/tyler-ulis-has-ankle-surgery-phoenix-suns-kia-nba-western-conference-rookie-of-the-month-belt-holder

And WHY would the Bulls want a big man that had a 5.3 PER and averaged a whooping 3.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in freaking 13.3 minutes???

When they could have Crowder and our top 4 pick and maybe Bradley????

Smitty77
if they are trading  Butler it is a rebuilding type trade and in that scenario you'd rather have Bender than Crowder and I don't think it is really much of a question. Now if it was Crowder, Smart or Brown, and the pick that is a different stoey.

I wouldn't trade Brown straight up for Butler. Or the 2017 Nets pick.

LOL! Neither would Chicago!! :o

Which is why no trade will likely happen between BOS-CHI for Butler.

It's mostly likely just DD based on trade-deadline conversations CHI had with other teams like BOS. My guess is that ORL is CHI's mostly likely/desperate trading partner for Butler, e.g. a high 2017 first round pick, future picks, and prospects.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
The good news about this playoff run is that if Chicago liked Terry Rozier during the 2016 draft, they must LOVE him right now because he's been a stud.

He's become a very, very good trade asset should the need arise.
I would personally love to keep him and see what he becomes but Danny might pull the trigger.

Imagine somehow keep Brown, the Nets 17' pick and landing Fultz, AND trading for Butler with some combo of:

Avery Bradley+
2018 Brooklyn pick+
Rozier+
2018 Celtics pick.

And rolling out a line up of:
IT
Fultz
Butler
Crowder
Horford

with Brown and Smart off the bench.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
