Simmons is already 27. He'll lose those explosiveness soon if he don't find a way to develop outside game.

Where did this guy come from, didn't even know about him til the playoffs.

He's a local Texas kid who always flashed potential but never stuck around anywhere. He bounced around from junior college to the University of Houston to a minor league team to the Spurs'  D-League affiliate. They liked what they saw and took a flyer.

D-League find by the Spurs two years ago.  Sean Marks, now of Brooklyn, was the guy who found him.  He's a restricted free agent, and I expect Brooklyn to make him a decent offer this summer.
