Raptors about to see big changes.

I was wondering what was the value of Valanciunas yesterday, well maybe the question was not that useless after all !

I don't think Lowry has very much left. He can't stay healthy and turns 32 next year. Could be good for on a team like the Spurs for a year or two, but not sure he can be a team's best player.

Lowry's option was a mere $12 million. He was always going to turn that down.  He's getting older, and missed a chunk of time due to injury, so we'll see what he gets, but certainly it will be more than $12 million for one year, which is what he's turning down.  This isn't a real story until free agency starts.

  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
Not surprised to be honest... It was evident from the start that Lowry would turn down his player option. Although, I'm bewildered and concerned as to how much someone like Lowry is going to fetch, since he's been an absolute lights out, having one of his best statistical seasons.

But he's been injured and out... During the prime time part of the playoffs.... Which also leads me to believe if Lowry wants to win, then he needs to cut trying to get an max, and just be content with joining a team where he could be the final piece.

If he joined the Spurs, a big 3 of Lowry, Leonard, and LMA is actuallly a dominant big 3 full of two way players.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

That would be such a good team, the basketball fan in me is hoping somehow it happens.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington

That was granted, except some serious injury for extended time.

I wonder where he will end up.

Hopefully not the Nyets. They do have the $$$ and the space, but he says he wants to contend, so hopefully not there, or he could play them into the late lottery.

Knicks if they get rid of Melo's salary (do they need to?), but then they aren't even pretend-contenders.

Minnesota or Milwaukee could both be pretty scary with him.

Fakers, maybe, but they are a long way away.

EDIT: Will Ujiri blow it up if he bolts? What do we want from them?

DeMare DeRozen, but we don't have the assets.

Maybe, if he wants to win a ring so badly, he'll pull a Durant and play with Bron Bron!

Play for the vet minimum, win a ring?...Nah!

If Masai blows it up, I think we have the picks/youth to get it done.

Given that, 2 days ago, I would've agreed with you.

BUT, anybody who says "if we had LeBron, we would've won" is a LOSER to me.

I still think he ends up back in Toronto
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I don't ...

And I think once Lowry leaves....Derozan may want out as well

Valenciunas is probably a goner too

Casey fired

Raptors are kind of maxed out ... not really a FA destination...don't have a draft pick this season

weird situation

One of my favorite players not on the Celtics.

Hope he ends up somewhere good. Honestly I think going back to Toronto makes the most sense.

In order for him to leave another team has to (1) have 30 mil available, (2) be close to contention and (3) need a point guard.

Seems like a pretty rare combo. Could Milwaukee free up the money? could New Orleans?
