There's two main things to take away from this Draymond quote...

1 - Kelly and his teammates can deny all they want about him being a dirty player, but players around the league think he's dirty.  That's just a fact.  If you look close enough and listen close enough to stories and quotes from players around the league, he's absolutely considered dirty amongst his contemporaries.

Assertion without argument.

Unless this is backed up by data it is simply one person's opinion.

If it is a fact, prove it.

Do you have a study where people are asked in a controlled setting whether each NBA player is dirty?

Anecdote is not the plural of data.

I don't know about other NBA players but I did notice on twitter that reporters for opposing teams have used the phrase "He does have a reputation for being dirty" quite often, when referring to Kelly..especially if it's after a dust up with another player. So there may be some merit with how other players "may" view Kelly.

LOL.

The Robinson Family must've had a stowaway on that ill-fated space ship and his name was Draymond Green.

Draymond's assessment here is not rooted in reality and he's a ninny.

Did I miss something?  What did KO do that would be considered dirty?  Set a pick?  It wasn't even that hard of a pick.

Send KO to the Draymond Green institute for basketball sportsmanship.  That should cure him.

That Kelly Olynyk is a dirty player is the current hot take, I was in no way disputing that. I was disputing that it is a fact. I am genuinely interested in how players are perceived compared to both their on court behavior and each other. I would also be interested in a similar study for teams.

I apologize if my post comes across in an attacking rather than debating tone.

If you bust a guy's shoulder to crap, accident or not, and set a hard screen that sets off a borderline fight, some people are going to go 1+1 = 2 & are gonna come out and call a guy dirty.

Whether he's truly dirty or not.

You're good. I definitely think if enough people start saying it- it makes others say "oh yeah, he is dirty" even if they didn't think so before.

Olynyk MUST be dirty because he was drafted by Danny Ainge, the brute who bit off Tree Rollins' finger and spat it out on the court...

Pot; Kettle, both black. Eff off Draymond. Olynyk is no ball kicker. Kelly is just a clumsy oaf who gets himself in these situations he can't avoid. Dray goes looking for trouble.

Draymond Green? LOL. We have in Spain this expression: "Habló de puta la tacones".

Literally, "About whor*s has Mrs. Heels talked". Sorry for the word.

And a pigeon swooped down, picked it up and was never seen again.

Ainge's battle with Tree was EPIC.

Danny was quite the ruffian back in the day - and also the starting SG on a championship roster.

Draymond walking around the NBA kicking folks looking like a pseudo Carl Douglas.

He got the nerve calling someone dirty lol

Forget about Draymond kicking people in the nuts. I mean he does other dirty things like moving screens and this.

Being the type of player that he is, and proud of it, he has cred in that area. (in his mind)

My thoughts exactly.  Humans by nature are very quick to label people.

Sometimes it only takes one example and people begin to make uneducated assertions.

Everyone on this board watches Kelly play every night and we didn't consider him dirty until, ironically a different Kelly committed a "dirty" act to him.

This whole "Kelly is dirty" thing is pretty Hilarious to me.

Kelly is not a physical player at all so for him to be considered dirty for one accidental play just doesn't seem right.

I've been challenging everyone who claim he is dirty to give me an example besides the K Love incident and I haven't gotten one good response.
