I love Brad but Brooks is out coaching this guy. This is just a part of it. Smart is still being expected to be a shooter when he is out on the court. This is not the right series for Smart, maybe he should get a role change at the least. Rozier should be getting some of his minutes. Smart is a better playmaker at this point, but right now against a team like the Wiz who are quick and can score, you have to fight fire with fire. Quick and can score is not in Marcus Smart's scouting report.

On to the hilarious pictures. Is Brad blind?

I have no idea how to interpret these pix, and the last two are the same, no?

Please provide some more commentary. Thanks.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Absolutely correct. Chicago did the same thing to a lesser extent.

This team has way bigger problems, but right now Marcus NEEDS the ball in his hands on offense and he isnt good enough with the ball in his hands to trust him to run your offense for 30 minutes a night.

Marcus Smart MUST learn to make wide open catch and shoot threes. No excuses. Teams are giving him warmup jumpers and hes not making them pay.

that said, these pictures arent that good lol. 2nd and 3rd are duplicates and in both pictures defenses are paying 0 attention to Crowder or Horford as well.

The inability to hit threes is Marcus's fault but Brad has also done a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ty job utilizing him.

True

Come on dude. Trust me they were paying attention to Horford on that (gortat) , just because his head is turned does not mean that they were not.

But Marcus Smart they are literally leaving open for seconds, I mean they don't even turn around to know where he is.

They knew where Horford was until IT turned the corner.

And look at the first picture, they left him completely open for about 10 seconds.

That is a cross court 3 pointer for anybody.

Who cares, you get the point though , these are just 3 examples.

3rd and 4th were duplicates by mistake.

Its also funny how Smart just sits at the three point line

When you are left open, that means they think you are trash.

Couldn't be worse than Roberson who is an absolute liability on offense. At least Smart can run a play on spurts.

When Smart is wide open like that, he has to have better sense to cut to the basket. And if a shot goes up, he has to hit the offensive boards hard, because there's no one boxing him out.

I don't understand the criticism.  Marcus Smart is just not that good a shooter, and the wiz know it.

Criticism of Brad seems odd too.  He is playing with half a deck of cards, what do you expect?

I've seen enough of this team to be ready to move on to the off-season.  They could still win this series b/c the wiz have a lot of holes too.  Either way, the winner will get steamrolled by Cleveland.  Ainge knows this which is why he didn't make any moves (even a minor one) to benefit this year's playoff run.

The story of picture #1 in two lines:
You're a horrible shooter, do yourself a favor, and cut to the hoop. (1) the defense has already committed to the top of the key, and (2) it's an easier pass for the ball handler.

Smart has done well to command as many minutes as he plays these days, but his offensive ineptitude is mind-numbing sometimes.

Smart gets starters minutes. And that is part of the problem. With his current skill set he is a role player.  Washington has one of the better back-courts in the NBA. The Wall/Beal duo is no joke.
Add Porter and you have a scoring trio. Tough match-up for Boston.

You have to love  Smart's grit and toughness on defense and the boards.

But you are right, Marcus Smart is given way too much freedom on offense without the skill set to match the offensive scheme. And its mind-numbing that he's allowed to continue to make the same mistakes with the thought that there will be a different outcome.

this.

he'd make the Wiz pay if he would cut to the basket and he actually received a pass on that cut.  can't imagine he's standing out there for any reason other than Brad wants him out there.  problem is, the purpose of putting a man out there is to draw a defender out of the paint but it's not working.  Coaching staff needs to review the tape to see this and make use of it.  If they did, I think they could get 2-3 easy baskets out of it and then get the result they really want which is a defender pulled out to cover Marcus

The problem with Smart is he thinks he is a good 3 point shooter because of the amount he jacks up. The guy needs to play to his strengths and use his strong body to take it to the basket and or cut to the basket when he doesn't have the ball but instead he stands there waiting to jack up a 3. The Wiz obviously have a scouting report on him and it's let him shoot from the outside. I trusted Rondo back in the day shooting from the outside than I do Smart.
