Would the 2018 BRK pick + 1 of Smart/Rozier/Crowder be enough to pry Prozingis from the Knicks?

Would both BRK picks be enough to cause this 3 way trade to happen?

BOS sends 2 BRK picks to NY + Salary and Crowder and Rozier) to NYK
BOS gets Porzingis and Love (from CLE)

CLE send Love to BOS
CLE gets Melo and future limited protected NYK 1st.

NYK sends Porzingis to BOS and Melo to CLE + future 1st to CLE
NYK gets 2 BRK picks + Crowder and Rozier  +salary matches

Can BOS do this trade and still sign Hayward?

2017-18 Roster

C -  Horford
F - Love
F- Hayward
G - Bradley
G - IT

Bench:
Porzingis
KO
Brown
Smart

Nader
Zizic
Yabusele

No on Porzingis. Even if he says he wants out, he has no leverage. NY has him on a rookie deal for the next 2 years and then can match any offers he gets in restricted free agency. That's potentially 6 years.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I wrote a thread some time back exploring our young front court possibilities.

I think Porzingis is available, but I'd trade the 2018 Nets pick for him.

I think Ben Simmons may also be available with this year's Nets pick, if it is #1. They need a scoring PG and with the emergence of Saric, Fultz is a better floor general than Ben Simmons.

Don't care much for Love... he diminished his value by going to Cavs...

1. No.
2. Don't think so... And I don't want it anyway. Let this team play, improve them as you can but don't try to break it with inventions.
3. Past 2018, tell me how you're gonna pay IT (30M), Horford (30M), Hayward (30M), Love (25M), Bradley (18M), Smart (12M)...and other 8 players.  Impossible.

So what do you think it would take? A BOS # 1 from 2018 +BRK #1 '17?

I don't think he's available. There's really no reason for NYK to trade him now. We can revisit this in 4 to 5 years when he can actually demand out.

The goal is hoist a championship banner - worry about the future finances in the future. If need be after winning a ring or 2 you make trades.

I do not believe the team as currently constructed can win a championship. Adding draft picks is nice but it will take 2-3 minimum to see the fruits of those picks.

IT and Horford's window is now + 2 years. SO if you are loading up for 2020 max out on your assets towards that time frame and dont resign IT

Your 3rd point is exactly why I'd want a move for a Rudy Gay and a Javale McGee, and add a scorer to our 2nd unit and we're good.

After 2018 Brown becomes the starting SG - Bradley off the books.  Porzingis beomes your starting C and you trade Horford (who will start his decline)  for picks and younger cheaper players.

This is the real world and not NBA LIVE GM or NBA 2K17 GM mode.  I don't see it happening given your scenario.

Unless Porzingis actively wants out, the Knicks have no incentive to move him for a draft pick. He's only 21 years old. If they can move Carmelo and try to rebuild through the draft they don't have to move him because he's still on the timeline. He's a young player with superstar potential. Trading him a pick, who are always question marks to some degree, I just don't see happening.

But I do still think that a deal built around Isaiah and Horford for Porzingis could make a lot of sense for both teams. But only if the Celtics land a top 2 pick in the draft (and, actually, that kind of short term step back might be unpalatable if the C's make it to the ECF and make some noise there). And even that might not be enough for Porzingis, even if he does demand out.

I agree in the goal, it's simply not possible this way. The Knicks aren't going to trade Porzingis and your proposed team can't be assembled because of the salary cap restrictions. With Love, IT and Horford we can't sign Hayward.

No way NY gives him up for just one Brooklyn pick and another player.  They'd essentially be trading him for talent they hope is as good.

If Porzingis demanded a trade,  I could see Jackson trading him for the BKN pick, but only if it's #1 or #2 overall. Otherwise, the only player I could see him dealing for is Thomas if Jackson is antsy to win sooner rather than later.

Still, the most likely outcome of all this is Porzingis stays in New York. He's still signed for two years and has no leverage whatsoever. He'd have to openly rebel at this point to get out of New York. The rules being what they are, it's extremely unlikely for anybody good to actually end up leaving the team they were drafted by until near the end of their second contract.

One extra issue is teams are still reluctant to trade stars within their conference. The Celtics would be at a slight disadvantage there.
