When the Celtics lose a game: About 2-3 "Trade IT" threads, some "our bigs are SOFT" threads, some "the world is ending" threads, some "we are first round exits" threads.

When the Celtics win a game: Some "Give IT an extension" threads, some "Jaylen is the next DWade or Butler" threads, some "We will catch the Cavs for that 1 seed" threads, some "this team is making the ECF - GUARANTEED" threads. ETC. ETC.

And this is after only A SINGLE win or loss in the regular season. Sure, if the team went on some 10 game losing streak, I could somewhat understand the premise of the threads. But you saw so much happiness after a win over LAL. Suddenly we lose to Phoenix (in a bad way, I know), and the world seems to be ending on these boards and suddenly we are talking "Ainge is a moron, the world is ending, trade IT and Horford while you still can!"

Now watch, if we end up beating LAC tonight, everyone will forget about the Suns loss and talk about how we are back on track and how we never doubted this team!   :P

It's almost as if the Celtics aren't the 2 seed (40-23), don't have Brooklyn Picks coming their way, and don't have a great young core going forward. A shame really..

It's what makes this blog so great LOL. Even in a loss, everyone's spirits are high, and the jokes/funny sarcasm hit the roof

He performs against elite teams but plays trash against mediocre teams.

So perplexing.

I am a measured fan who almost never overreact. However, last night's game was awful, in all matters: lack of effort, selfishness, delusional plays, etc.

It had nothing to do with the WHAT. It was the HOW.

Oh yeah, no doubt. Yesterday's game was AWFUL. Honestly should have lost that game a lot earlier.

But there are many on here who overreact after a single loss too. Regardless how it happens, if it's an L, the overreaction is high around here (to the point of talking trades and blaming certain players or even Ainge).

Prob affects the topics  by giving those of whatever opinion some supporting evidence. I'd call that normal. And it's more convenient for those who don't have the time to pour their very lives into developing a researched thesis (complete with advanced stats and the reason for selecting those stats to support the thesis and discussion of the underlying validity and reliability of the stat indicated, with comparative examples of well known - or not - players from other teams).

We can just simply say:  See!  He stinks/is a bum/overrated/superhero/whatever.

I would rather have lost by 40 than lost like we did last night. I think that a lot of people feel that way, so after losing a game in the tragically comical way that we did last night, there will be reactionary threads because of the emotions losing that way evokes.

That being said, hopefully this game is a real kick in the teeth to the team and wakes them the *&%** up.

The guy pointing to his wrist in the fourth quarter, despite the tardiness of the delivery by Crowder, should be pointing to himself instead. He lost focus there and because of that and his and JB's missed FTs  we lost the game.

Jerebko, Olynyk and Zeller could've been replaced by a 400 pound Sully, and he wouldn't have done worse. Really putrid performances by our "bigs", if that's what you would call them. Great floor spacers , though.

I understand and share your point.

I won't entirely blame Brown (rookie) and IT (91% FT Shooter), but our defense the last two possessions were PUTRID (not talking the game winner, but the two possessions before that which were open layups).

It was like the defense just pointed the way for the Suns: "Here's a lane, get the layup". Not once, BUT TWICE...

Of course, not having Horford or any rim protector inside didn't help at all.

My frustration was they lost another game to a lessor opponent, when they really needed the "W".

I know it was just one game but in reality, its more like four of their last seven. With three tough road games, right ahead of them. They really can't afford too many more losses to those teams, unless they don't mind slipping out of the top three in the east.

But you're right, its not the end of the world.. Still a lot of Bball left.

It's the way they lost this one...

And it's a forum, about a basketball team.  When is discussing issues pertaining to that team on the forum dedicated to that team a crime?

Blame the current sports media.   They have trained all of us to pay the most attention to the most outrages and over the top headlines and quick takes.

It was only a matter of time that it took a strong hold on the fans.
