Could Jaylen win ROTY?

Love Brown and his future. But he won't finish in top 3 for ROY. May not even make all rookie first team. Deserves to, but probably won't.

Gotta remember that the award is voted by sportswriters from around the country. These writers don't get to see every rookie extensively so probably base their votes on the little they have seen and raw stats. Jaylen hasn't posted any raw stats this year that will get him the attention needed to come close to winning the award.

Does that mean I want any other rookie this year over him? Does that mean he won't be one of the top rookies to come out of this class? Does that mean he doesn't have star potential? No to all of the above. It just means Brown was developed slowly here, didn't get the minutes that rookies on bad teams got, and so didn't show enough or post enough stats to come close to winning the ROY award.

I guess that these sports writers don't watch national TV games then!!  Such as when Jaylen put up 19 points, 5 boards, 3 steals, 2 assists, and 1 block at Cleveland on November 3rd and then when he put up 8 points and 7 boards and 1 block in only 23 minutes and hit the clenching 3 with just under 38 seconds!!  I hope and pray that the brilliant sportswriters remember who the reigning World Champions are:-))

I agree completely Nick!!  It is sad that they can vote without proper information!!  The voters should have to watch a minimum 100 or 200 hours of actual NBA games where these candidates play.
