Is Joe Lacob ****ting his pants right now?

There's no way the Pelicans are a better team than the Warriors but we hear it ever year: the playoffs are all about matchups. Nola is well within striking distance of the 8th seed and I expect them to get there. If that happens, how do they stack up against the Warriors?

Can Davis and Cousins combine to average 30 rebounds a game against GS? How much does it hurt the Warrior's offense if Draymond Green is being swallowed by Anthony Davis or Demarcus Cousins all night? Can the Warriors go small if Anthony Davis is capable of staying with Durant?

Assuming Cousins and Davis can get along on the court, the Warriors' first round just got a heck of a lot more interesting.

The Hornets are still the worst team in the league at defending the 3...

They are only 2.5 games out of the 8th seed. With 30 more games left its easy and may even reach 7th or 6th seed.

Without giving up Davis and getting Cousins they are definitely a lock to reach the playoffs. Yup I do agree though that they may present some problems for the Warriors and yes ...Ainge and Wyc made a mistake of not making or trumping that offer of NOLA.
Bad attitude and all im sure a new landscape will keep DC in check. The fact that the Kings were the most dysfunctional team ive ever seen was pehaps the main reason DC was as having some attitude issues...who the heck wants not to win and im pretty sure if DC was surrounded by IT crowder and Horford why on earth would he not straighten his screws....DC would have instantly made us contenders and get us over Cleveland specially with Love out.

I have to imagine that the Warriors are regretting not getting a better big than Zaza.  If they play NO in the first round, Zaza will have to be out there trying to defend Boogie for 30 minutes every night.  What other option do they have? 36(!) year old David West? Javale McGee?

I still think the Warriors win the series (and the finals), but that series would wear them out, especially their bigs.  It could make them vulnerable to a team like the Spurs
I'm bitter.

I have to wonder if the Pelicans are done making moves. Wouldn't be surprised if they try to shore things up a bit more with another piece or two. Obviously their roster still has its holes - though Jrue Holiday is an overlooked PG who will hold his own against the elites. Great defender, too.

I would love to see a NOP - GSW matchup. We would get to see which cartoonishly loaded and imbalanced team wins - the one with the unstoppable backcourt or the ungaurdable frontcourt. Etc etc.

Also, for all the talk of whether or not we should've swung a deal for Boogie - this is still SAC we're talking about. That front office is full of idiots. Maybe they think this was a great deal for them. Maybe they would have demanded both BKN picks or nothing. Who knows what the truth looks like in bizzarro-world.

Reports are out that they'd like to move Terrence Jones now. I have to assume it would be for a wing.

Their chances are slim to none to get higher than the 8th seed. They're 9 games behind OKC right now for the 7th spot with only 25 games left. It looks like their destiny is indeed the Warriors.

They are not beating the Warriors.

But if they cane extend the series, the physical toll on the Warriors could make them more vulnerable to the better teams later in the playoffs.

If the pelicans can figure out a way to get Wilson chandler from Denver then they will be very potent and tough team...
