Since coming back from injury, and in the 8 games he has played in February, Griffin has done extremely well.

February (8 games) - 25.5 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 6.3 APG, 1.0 Block/Game (33.9 MPG)

Very efficient, and he's doing it while shooting at 52%.

Part of it may be because of CP3 being out, but he's still doing well. His season averages are 22/9/5 in about 35 MPG (in 36 games due to injury - but still very good overall).

It may still be a pipe dream this summer, but if the Clippers end up getting bounced in the first round, could Griffin really look to a change of scenery? Pipe dream especially with new CBA but who knows? I don't think we expected Horford or KD to leave their teams during much of last season (but they did).

I worry about how Blake Griffin will age.

Also, I'm not sure how well he would fit with Horford.

I think it would work out. I would be completely fine with either Hayward or Griffin.

A lot depends on if he can stay healthy from here on out.

But Hayward also falls under the category of "will he even leave his team and lose the possibility of more $$$".

Griffin strikes me as a Horford with long-2 range rather than 3-point range. He can pass, post, and face-up really well, from my recollection. No clue how he is defensively, but he always seems to get a ton of rebounds and didn't stand out to me as a poor individual or team defender when we played the Clippers.

I am not a drummond fan but i will rather a healthy drummond than a red-flag Griffin
The final is at the end of the season and you can't win if you can't stay healthy no matter how good you are
ex:LBJ is incredibly healthy and CP3 on the other hand..

They're not getting bounced in the first round if they play Utah with home court and they have a fit Chris Paul.

They're winning that series quite easily.

I think he'll age just fine.  He's already not the above-the-rim dunker he used to be: he's a super-skilled PF who can post up, pass better than most starting PGs, defend multiple positions, and stretch it out to just inside the three-point line.  Despite his reduced athleticism, he still rebounds better than anyone on this team.

He's my #1 free agent target for the summer and more or less the perfect frontcourt partner for Al Horford.  I think he'd be amazing on our team.

1) Utah are very good, and may have home court. I'd say it's a coin-flip for the Clippers at best.

2) New CBA won't affect Griffin as he is highly unlikely to make an All-NBA team this year.  He won't be eligible for designated player.

I couldn't agree more.  Signing him and then swinging a deal for Butler or Paul George with the Nets pick this year is pretty much my ideal summer (although signing Hayward and trading for Boogie is probably better).  I hope there's even a remote possibility of it happening

If we do sign him that would certainly change my position on Butler or George.  I'd be all for dumping every remaining asset we have to get one of them.

A five-man lineup of IT-Smart-Butler-Griffin-Horford would destroy the Earth.

I think Griffin would fit well with Horford.  Horford is the kind of guy who will do whatever is asked of him and one of his best skills is being able to do "the little things" extremely well.  Griffin would become the new pick and roll guy with IT while Horford can spread the floor, be in the right spots, pass the ball, and be a plus defensive presence.  I think they'd complement each other well.

I think Griffin would be thrilled to play with a big that people have to guard when he's more than five feet away from the basket.

I guess the glass half full way to look at this is if they play each other, then one of them will get bounced from the first round, leading to the other signing with us  :P

In response to your comment, though, I definitely don't see Utah as a pushover. They have had several years to grow as a team and finally have a consistent pg to lead them. With Gobert able to somewhat neutralize DJ, they could definitely make some noise. Utah went much of the year with a multitude of injuries, too. Healthy, they could be pretty scary.
