He deserves first team. He might not have the clout yet to get it, but he deserves it.

Draymond Green is still pretty freaking impressive and versatile, but Smart is quickly becoming the guard version of him.

Green, Leonard, and Smart are probably in. After that, it's probably Chris Paul (still really good, but trending down) and Rudy Gobert.

you know i made that exact same comparison with a friend the other day. I do see Smart as the guard version of Green. Both instrumental in their team's success but neither the first nor second in offense option, but does all the little things, all the dirty work

Reporters are calling him the Cobra. Better fitting name for guy that kills the snakes (Black Mamba etc, would be Marcus the Mongoose.

He has earned his stripes.  I don't see how he doesn't make at least all-second team defense this year.  He's got the rep for defense and more importantly he is performing at an extremely high level.  Marcus Smart is just a bulldog on D.  Nobody enjoys being guarded by this guy, that much it is safe to say.
