Looks like Angies focus will be a big......not Butler, George etc........Adam Kauffman: Danny Ainge to @Toucherandrich: “We’re looking for rim-protection (at the trade deadline.” #Celtics

This is going to sound funny with Ibaka available, and now gone.........but maybe his attitude scared Danny.   Word is he had a hard time playing as a Team with the young guys....

Steve Kyler: It was a little obvious Ibaka did not bond with his Magic teammates but hearing guys had real issues with him and happy to see the change.

Johnson sounds like what we need. Maybe a Jerebko and a future protected first (or a couple of 2nd rounders?) for Johnson?

Jereb

I wonder if a swap of Jerebko for James Johnson would be worth while?  Similar 3P% and rebounding numbers, but Johnson is more of a shot blocker.

Not a bad idea....  I'd rather move Mickey/Jackson for him.   If Miami would take it.  Seems like they would like younger core, we consolidate a little and get a guy that can help us win now and keep Jonas.   He is a specialty player...he will help us win a couple games...maybe even in the playoffs.

Pretty much means a guy like Noel is out of the question...

I still think Vucevic is the best option ... he has two years on a friendly contract and provides what the team needs ... big who can rebound , stretch the floor , shoot threes, and defend.

Im not sure why Ainge is holding on to Rozier so tight but what I've read Vucevic's price is quite low..

Look into a trade that will get you Noel first, if not successful, then call Sacramento about WCS.

Noel is another rental player.  DA already turned down a trade for Ibaka because he was only going to be a rental.

I'm not advocating trading for Noel, but a rental is a UFA. Noel is a RFA.

Miami isn't selling they're buying supposedly, after their long winning streak.  No way they make that trade.

DA did not WANT to resign Ibaka.  That was the issue.  In the case of Noel, I think he would.  So different case.

Johnson is a rental, but he is much cheaper.  I think he adds value to this years team and wouldnt cost enough to hurt the future. Either trade  Jerebko and draft pick or trade 2 out of Young, Jackson, Mickey.

Getting AB back healthy and adding Johnson would be all the added spark this team needs.
