After being away from basketball for a few years, he decides he wants to get into coaching and gets hired to a 3-18 high school team near his home.  That team gets 8 transfers  in the off season all who wanted to play for the local legend and former NBA player.  This year the team is 22-0 and the #1 team in the country.  Not a bad first year as coach.

Good for him!  Always liked B.Roy and was sorry to see his career cut short.  He's still only 32...imagine what he could have done in this league all this time if not for the injuries.

Pretty cool.  I really liked Roy.  I think he would have been awesome in the current NBA with his slashing ability.

I always loved Roy. Great attitude, great player. [dang] shame his body couldn't hold up.

Nice to hear he's having some success where he's at now.

Not to get too far ahead but it sounds like he might someday make it back to the NBA as a coach. Good for him, a class act whose body just couldn't hold up. Like Grant Hill minus the 2nd half of his career.

same, also loved Roy when he was with the Blazers...you know when Lillard hit that huge 3 against the Rockets, it actually also reminded me of the 3 that Roy made almost a decade ago also against the Rockets.

Glad he is finding success off the courts now. Do you think we will one day see him coaching in the NBA?

Ditto on the sentiments here.   Loved Roy from all the way back to his college days.  Great to see him enjoying the game in a new way and having success.
NBA Officiating - Corrupt?  Incompetent?  Which is worse?  Does it matter?  It sucks.
