A Nets Pick for Myles Turner?

A couple years ago I wanted Myles Turner badly and was upset we didn't take enough to get him (but things obviously have worked out well since then).

Isn't he everything we need? A big man that rebounds, blocks shots, AND he hits 3s to boot (which is perfect for Brad's system).

I am generally against trading either Nets pick, but it would be tempting for Myles Turner. Would we ever do it? Would Indy ever do it? Thoughts?

Myles Turner does suit what we do perfectly - right down to adding to the eclectic mix of hairstyles we are currently parading around the country !!!

of course, but Bird thinks extremely high of Turner, you won't get him even with 2 nets picks, let alone one, it's easier to get PG13.

Turner's skill set is pretty close to the prototype for the 2017 NBA big man. I can't find any reason for Indiana to do this kind of deal.

This. Turner is indeed everything the C's need but the reason you want the #1 pick is because you hope you come away with a guy like Turner. No way Indy is trading him right now.

I definitely think it's a fair price, I'd pay this year's nets pick for him.
However it doesn't make sense for the Pacers. If they trade Turner then surely it's to fit Paul George's timeline? ie a win now move. Or they trade George for picks/players to fit Turner's timeline.

I think Turner is the reason they'll think on PG13.  Build around Turner and the plethora of assets they get for George.

I really wanted Turner in that draft, and a part of me still think Ainge was trying to move up for him, and not Winslow.   That being said, Indy isn't trading him, and the Celtics shouldn't trade a Nets pick for him.  While I really like Turner, the ceiling of the Nets pick + it's value as an asset in trades, makes it worth more than Turner.

Turner's the guy I was hoping to get in that draft but I'm not sure I'm ready to move either Nets pick for him.    other assets would be worth the discussion, not so sure about those.

I think my reluctance to using the Nets picks on a player that new to the league is that I'd prefer to use them on a player that's established as an all-star or top 20 player for several years.  As much as I like Turner, he doesn't fit that requirement for me.

Turner's is turning into a really good starter but if you're picking in the top 3 in this year's draft, you'd be disappointed if you got a player who's only as good as Turner is.  I'd pass.

I disagree there. Turner is still 20 years old (only 6 months older than Jaylen) and he's averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 blocks per game and shooting .517/.370/.805. I don't know how you could be disappointed in that, regardless of the pick.

TP to you! He is already nasty good, and one would think he is still developing and will get better... Unfortunately Bird isn't dumb and he will never allow it to look like he got fleeced by his former team (he doesn't want to be mocked like McHale for 'giving a present to his old team') so I doubt BKN18 and Bradley is enough, and things get mucky adding more top assets.

Turner would be a perfect fit here. He is already on a great path towards becoming a great player.

Nets 2018, Clippers pick, Bradley for Turner.
