I think so. In the playoffs though, we'll see (assuming Love returns).

If true the 1 seed is in play.

I don't hope for injuries. But this may help us on the trade market and with seeding for sure. Also makes me smile Love is not a Celtic too.

I think Frye can cover for him.
They have enough talent.  They may drop 2-3 games, and hopefully that is all we are going to need.

Injury issues continue to plague the Cavaliers, who will be without another key rotation player for the foreseeable future. According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com (via Twitter), All-Star big man Kevin Love will undergo a scope on his left knee, and is expected to be sidelined for the next six weeks.

The Cavaliers had already been missing J.R. Smith, whose broken thumb is expected to keep him out of action until sometime in March, and Iman Shumpert, who likely won’t return until after the All-Star break due to a sprained ankle.

Wow...that would be devastating to their seeking the #1 seed.

Could you imagine the Celtics getting #1 seed AND the #1 pick???

Truly Ainge will have to win executive of the year over LeBron.

I would have said yes, if we had gotten Ibaka.  Now, I'm not so sure.  I think the deal gives Toronto the edge in the race for 2nd seed.

The Trade deadline has not passed yet. DA is on top of things.

Don't think we have to do anything to get the first seed but continue to improve. We have more depth than the Cavs do, they'll need more rest, and we have an easier schedule. If they're not 100% and we are, we can beat them. If they are we can't. I don't think Danny's doing anything but minor or major deals at this point though.

Wouldn't be surprised if Horford ends up as the ASG replacement. One of the top teams in the NBA, Embiid may not be available, and there's no one else that jumps out. Beal is another possibility, but WAS's record is deceiving having played 8 more home games and being only 9-14 on the road. Horford's advanced stats are better because Beal's defense is weak.

Toronto has lost way too much ground for the 2 seed.  Suppose we go 16-11 the rest of the way, which is a win or two less than would be expected based on our current winning percentage.  Even if we slowed up slightly, Toronto would need to go 20-7.  That a 60-win pace over a full season.  While not impossible, that's a really heavy lift, and again, it requires we play less well than we have, despite that we have a pretty easy schedule the rest of the way.

This helps Toronto get to #3, and be a threat to make the ECF from the #3 seed.  But we'll have to play a good deal worse than we have been for them to get us at #2, much less have the edge.

It gives them the edge perhaps if we play in the post season. However, the Raptors are already all the way down to tied for 4th at the moment. They also play Washington twice right after the all star break. They would have to really be on fire or have a Celtics slump to catch us.
