Doesn't hear the cheers for Hayward from the (Utah) crowd tonight and think of it the wrong way

In all seriousness, I hope he stays with us long term and doesn't get traded.

Oh and hopefully he sees Hayward and gets motivation to have another great game against Utah  ;D

That doesn't mean we shouldn't target Hayward in the summer though, FYI.

He can still get extra minutes with Crowder as I think Bradley could be the "odd man out" here in the next 1-2 years..

Of course that depends on if Hayward will be okay leaving Utah in the summer (which I think is highly doubtful - only a 5% chance of happening).

Speaking of Crowder, does anyone know if he'll be playing against the Jazz?
I'm bitter.

He will not.

Since he's in Dallas for personal reasons, he should rejoin the team there.

Yep. Brad said that's the plan.

I do think it is fair to assume one of IT, Bradley and Smart is gone, but I think Bradley is the safest of the three. He actually fits into his role in the least compromising way.

IT is incredible, but a defensive liability, and his contract lands in an uncomfortable spot for the team age wise. Eventually he would be in the way of Fultz or Ball, both of whom should run a team within a couple of years.

Smart is an incredible defender, but he is only OK against the fastest, most skilled point guards. He true genius is at covering bigger players. He is also a historically bad shooter who clogs the lane. Pairing him with Fultz or Ball isn't ideal, because they are better suited to covering shooting guards too.

Bradley has proven he can be a winning combination with IT, despite the size issues. He stretches the defense and makes it easier for other players to drive. He's not needy on offense, but he produces. He would be even better with Fultz, because he can let Fultz or Ball cover shooting guards. His contract lands him at a more comfortable age for the team to pay up.

He is a great fit with any of the other guards.

This makes great sense till we talk about $. If IT is 26 million, AB is 22 million and Smart is 15 million you can't have all three. IT on this squad minus AB still equals a playoff top 4 team for owners and fans that's a big deal. If you take out IT over AB and Smart they are a 6-8 seed not good. And if you keep AB and IT you are spending way too much on a #2 and #4 type player on a championship caliber team you can't over pay three guys (IT, AL and AB). That makes me feel AB is the least likely to stay due to economics.

I did say one guy needs to go. You can't analyze this as if we are just going to let one of these guys walk. It really boils down to who fits the best together and who draws the best offer.

And for the record, I think IT and AB are worth paying.

Smart won't be so much cheaper than AB.
