I could use a million dollars
I think you are one of the guys who would trade all the Brooklyn picks, Crowder, Bradley and Olynyk for Cousins. Though you were correct that Sully was hanging out too much at Dairy Queen. You win some, you lose some.
Not quite that radical for Cousins ....
. ....I would trade all, that and more for Anthony Davis ...yes in a NY second. Him being so young , We would have plenty of time to,gather up,more players I still would not trade Smart , he is a super special type guy.
Yes , I want Cousins bad , but I would not give up,all that . One Nets pick plus lesser first and Bradley or Brown and JJ and Zeller throw ins
Now where is million dollars !
Now you're talking my language. I'd be much more willing to push for fireworks if it landed Anthony Davis instead of Cousins.
I might go for DeMarcus if he was a free agent. He gives to charities in a humble manner. Maybe there is truth to Sacramento being the problem and not necessarily Cousins. But the Kings seem to have him locked in no matter what because they want to give him Trump money and that seems enough for him to stay put.
I know what you mean about give me a million dollars. Evan Turner is worth $17 million? Why can't Evan make $15 million and we each pocket a million? I'd take 50 grand, let alone a million. Even $1,000 would feel like life changing money to myself.
That's why I think it would be refreshing if Isaiah and the guys gave us hometown discounts. It's not that I'm arguing for the owners to get richer. I am just thinking in terms of the salary cap and how individual contracts always get inflated.
Gerald Wallace's sunken $10 million didn't mean anything because the first year was tanking and the second was incremental growth and then we got Isaiah.
If you trade for Cousins, Ainge will be ceding a lot of power in regards to flexibility. He will be locked in because of a major decision or two. I would consider trading the two Brooklyn picks, Bradley and Amir or Zeller to match the salaries (whatever works) for Cousins. That would make sense. It would also make sense for the Kings, but I'm not sure they would take that over bringing back Cousins year after year for five more cynical years.
I think Noel makes the most sense for a big trade if the two sides can hammer out a fair deal. Larry Sanders might make the most sense (in terms of this year), but I guess he didn't impress Danny enough in the tryout.
I think a lot depends on Amir Johnson. He's got much better hops than Al. He's tougher. We need him to get past the last couple years and get back to how he played in Toronto. Horford unfortunately doesn't inspire much confidence and we clearly need a center. I try to leave options open. I am not going to give up on Amir or Al. There are still quite a number of months left for those guys to refresh.
But for that to happen, Olynyk and Jerebko need to play bigger roles. It looks like Zeller is kind of the problem. He is not providing much center defense. That is a hole in the team. We need one guy capable of 15-20 minutes to add six bruising fouls to Amir, Al, and Kelly.
Cousins would plug that hole, but we'd be opening up other holes. Health seems to be the biggest factor, then next, it's on Ainge to address the paint problem by next season.
