then hand us the pick.

That is the way I like to look at it. We do not own the BKN17 pick but just a right to swap. Minor technicality that may just be enough to swing the lottery in our errr I mean in Brooklyn's favor.

So all of you that are worried about the disappointment with past draft lotteries for Boston remember this pick really belongs to Brooklyn we just have swap rights that we may choose or not choose (wink wink) to use.

So to break any lottery jinx that Boston may have lets just call this year's Brooklyn pick the Brooklyn pick until after the draft lottery. ;D

You are right. Brooklin never intended to tank.
So they deserve the #1 pick.
Whatever we decide to swap or not, that has nothing to do with the Nets  8)

I am actually really curious about that. Will Danny trigger the swap before the lotto, or will the Nets have to send a representative to the lotto to sit through what would have to be the most painful lotto of all time.

Teams that did not make the lottery are ranked weeks prior to the lottery hence since the Nets are the worst their management will not sent a representative to the drawing of the pingpong balls knowing that they knew and the league knows Boston will exercise their rights to swap. No way the Nets sends a representative on an exercise in futility.
The luck of the draw though is still gonna be from the Nets since its their position that allowed the Cs to have all those pingpong balls at hand...we all know how bad our own luck is when it comes to the draft lottery.

Danny will trigger it before the lottery.  If he didn't, then there would be no lottery representative from Boston in the back room to make sure that no shenanigans happen.  There's no way I'd trust the Nets and other teams to let us know if anything shady happened (not saying that it would, but I wouldn't take the risk just to be needlessly cruel to Brooklyn)

I'm all for calling it the Brooklyn pick until the draftee puts on a Boston cap, though
I'm bitter.

The OP is very superstitious.

It's all random, there's no league fix against the C's.

Nope. The closest we have been was back in 1986 where we got the 2nd pick of the draft.

Nope. Not likely. I spoke with the lottery a few days ago and it was already well aware that the pick is really ours. It then leaned forward, slapped me in the face, reached out its dirty claw to catch my tears and licked its finger, declaring "Your anguish sustains me."

And a TP to the first person who can correctly cite the source of that quote. No googling. If I catch you googling, it's out to the woodshed.

Yeah, been thinking about this lottery.  And I know one drawing does not affect the other, but the fact that the worst team won the lottery last year (and #2 and #3 stayed the same) probably dooms us from winning it this year.  Never mind that we never win this [dang] thing while some teams have all the luck.

The Ewing pick seemed rigged. The corner of the envelope was bent.

At least there is no more David Stern. Maybe Adam Silver thinks it will be good for the league to have the Celtics back at the top, so he will rig it for us.

Professional wrestling is not so bad if it works out for the good guys.

Just kidding, but that Ewing selection seemed completely rigged, and then, it's easy to wonder about Cleveland winning the lottery with next to nothing for ping pong balls.

Oh no the R WORD.... that is taboo here for some. Can you expand on the Ewing deal, I have seen a couple of posts on it in the last week but never knew of any controversy surrounding that draft.
