Griffin would be a good fit  .  If he can get and remain healthy.

He looks COOKED to me!!!!

Smitty77

I don't know how you look at players, but his last 5 games after coming back from an injury, he's averaging 23 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists on 53% shooting.

Give me that guy. It wouldn't matter if he's cooked, if he can post those kind of numbers, I want him.

Empty numbers!!  They went 1-4 in those games, correct??  I LOOK AT wins and losses, not empty individual stats.  Take them in CONTEXT of W's and L's!!!!  Three of those fours losses were by double digits and their ONE win was against the Suns, the team with the second worst record in the entire NBA!!

Smitty77
his first game back from injury he was awful but in the other three losses, they lost to Golden State twice and us(5th best record in the league) once. Not to mention this was all without Chris Paul.

Wait Blake doesnt fit our system because he doesnt shoot 3's? Wow. Could it be that this is our system because we dont have players that care consistently dominate from other parts of the floor so we must use the 3 ball to win games?

This team doesnt have alot of guys that can consistently post up or take guys off the dribble so they scheme for the best shot that fits with the personnel.

For those saying dont take him cus he doenst fit our scheme or shoot 3s you are basically saying you wouldnt trade for Anthony Davis because he doesnt shoot 3s since he takes less than 2 a game.

I'd like to both, see how he plays out this season, AND how he fares in the playoffs.

Sadly, another injury could really make me want to 100% avoid him this summer even if he's available.

Blake Griffin does not care about Basketball.....Now if they were filming a movie or a commercial, he might have been impressed.

He the bad thing about him and CP 3 .....they are ruined by TV , Hollywood ,  pop culture , the whole celebrity gig.

They maybe be worthless to most teams as making them contenders .unless they are in certain cities.  They are big market divas

Kudos to James for doing his thing in Cleveland.

I mean, Boston isn't Hollywood, but still: David Ortiz is on a national TV TurboTax commercial. Gronk is all over TV. Brady has (had?) a giant billboard on I-90 of him wearing Uggs and claiming that Uggs are "for champions." IT is all over the MBTA, especially as you get close to the TD Garden.

It's not like Boston players all live underground and refuse to show their face on TV or other media.

THE ISSUE right now is not whether we impress free agents, we are second seed in the east with a very young roster, good innovative coach, tremendous cache of talent stashed away, multiple lottery picks coming up...these all spell fantastic destination and competitive team for years to come, the real issue is which free agents impress the Celtics.

Well out of all the available options I only see five names that "impress" Boston.

Gordon Hayward, Blake Griffin, Nerlens Noel, Paul Millsap and Serge Ibaka.

Out of those five, I expect three (Griffin, Hayward, Noel) to stay put with current teams.

That leaves Noel or Millsap (or an outside chance at CP3 but with IT here we may not even go after him at all).

He was and is a player. That is a fact.
Worth A Brooklyn pick? No

If he was looking to play here as a FA you have to seriously consider it

TP for truth.

It was interesting that many claimed last year the Cs couldn't score in the FA market. It's never happened they said. I - along with others - wrote multiple posts pointing out why that was incorrect. We finally had cap space. We had a young coach. Stable FO. Good team. Good locker room. Young talent to fill the back end of the roster. Many people discounted those facts but were proven wrong after we signed Al.

We're in a stronger position now than we were last year. We still have cap space. The locker room is still good. We're winning more. Brad is coaching the ASG. IT is practically worshiped in Boston. We're looking at a top 4 pick in the upcoming draft.

That doesn't mean we will sign a max player. But the Boston Celtics are a FA destination that most decent players will seriously consider before making a choice. And that's all you can ask in the FA game.

As our team is constructed Blake is not a good fit. If we build a team around IT being the primary scorer. You need bigs who can stretch the floor to open up space for IT. Also being good at defense is a necessity. Blake is good on D but he isnt a great shooter. I actually think Paul Millsap would be perfect for our current team but he's just too old at this point to invest in.

isnt blake a pretty solid midrange shooter. Plus hes a great passer and I think if you put him on a team without Deandre Jordan and I think hed rebound well.

If I cant take on a player like Blake because he doesnt shoot 3s then I think the system need to be reevaluated. As good as IT is Im not going to not take a player like blake because he doesnt shoot 3s. This team can be too one dimensional as in. iM not interested in just having a bunch of bigs like KO just to fit IT when I dont think IT is the type of player i build my entire team on

I agree. IT is a beast, but he isnt good enough to justify turning down good players because they dont fit his style just right.

Plus, Blakes passing makes him a fit anyway.
