The Celtics are winning games at a pretty solid clip after a sluggish start.  They're the #2 seed headed into the break and on pace for 52-53 wins (more if the recent record is more the norm over the final 30 games.  They've found a formula that's working, and should improve when Bradley is back.  After casting some doubts with some lackadaisical play, they are most definitely getting back to the level of effort last years squad showed regularly.  They are indeed a better team than last year, and they're showing it now.

Brooklyn's 2016 gift is developing before our eyes and their 2017 offering is headed for the biggest helping of pingpong balls.

Thomas is one of the more amazing stories in the team's history.  We're getting to see some pretty special stuff just about every night.

Stevens is coaching the All Star Team.

Michael Young is blossoming...

What's not to love?

They're still not really built for the playoffs, but hopefully Danny can do a little something to help.  Get the right guy(s) and the Celts will be able to make some serious noise in the East.

TP. I completely agree with this.

I do think if we match up against a team with size like Indiana or Milwaukee, despite being a 2 seed we could struggle. I'd like to see Ainge go after some rebounding big on the cheap like Nurkic or Ibaka.

We should at least make the second round this season and I would love that (make progress and no first round exit again). To make noise in the east THIS season and make the ECF, Ainge needs to find some rebounder because Olynyk-Zeller won't cut it in that department.

Going forward, for this team to become legit contenders, the two needs are a #2 scorer alongside IT, and a rebounding BIG. I fear that once teams contain IT (even with triple teams) in the playoffs, he could still put up 25+ but be limited in the final moments of games.

Hopefully the team is healthy by playoff time and Horford and Bradley step up. We missed Bradley a lot last year in the ATL series and Crowder was hurt too.

Without him Evan Turner was practically our second best scorer (not ideal).

I think I want Nurkic if the price is right.

Yep a very productive season so far. The only thing I wish for is a first round victory in the playoffs. If they don't get at least that then this season is a fail to me.

Yeah honestly if this team is relatively healthy and still has a first round exit despite adding Horford and Brown.. It's a failure.

That being said they've performed to the level where you think they could actually make the ECF (but I'll contain my hopes and say we should at least be making the second round this season).

I think they're clearly better than any team they'd be matched up against in the 1st round as a 2 or 3 seed.

The last two months have been really kind to us. Not only have we started to play better, but the nets are at the all time low. On top of that, teams that were in competition for the #1 odds have started to win a ton of games. Also on that note, the teams that were ahead of us in the standings started to loose a bunch of game. If it weren't for that 3 game loosing streak, we would be tied with the Cavs right now I think.

Exactly, and we've done that with injuries.

The rapid ascension of Ante Zizic perfectly illustrates how enviable a position we're in. Zizic is dominating at age 20 at the highest level outside of the NBA. Over 7 months, he's elevated himself from #23 pick to "should've gone top-10 last year/would've gone in the lottery in this year's stacked draft." Yet no one in this thread has mentioned Ante Zizic...with good reason. This tremendous success, this magnificent development is but a minor storyline for your 2016-17 Boston Celtics. So, yes, I'm happy. I'm happy that so much is going right that we have the luxury of forgetting Ante Zizic.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

What a late bloomer Young is.  We drafted him in 1984!

Agreed, but without sacrificing Nets picks.
