Ibaka could push for a playoff team move telling them he wil not resign... you do not trade a first round pick for rental...zeller young and a second rounder for ibaka is a fair trade.... they will give him a chance to compete... bring in nader too
Thank you

It would be stupid to give a 1st round pick of any kind for a rental. I wouldn't see that happening. An expendable player or two plus a 2nd maybe should do it.

I'm thinking a good smaller trade would be

Rozier, Young and AJ
for
Gibson and Mirotic

Bulls get a PG they like and expirings. C's get playoff help for this year and clear up Guard log jam.

No thanks to Mirotic, he's a lesser version of Jerebko this year.  Gibson would be a decent pick up though.

The Magic Site, Orlando Pinstriped Post, had an article exploring Ibaka trades and they created this one with Boston:

Amir Johnson, Demetrius Jackson, 2017 Second Rounder, and Ante Zizic for Ibaka.

Now I know I know, you aren't trading Zizic in any deal for a rental.

BUT if they accepted another future Non-BKN pick instead of Zizic in that similar package for Ibaka, would you do it? I would definitely consider it.

Or Zeller + Jackson + Future Second + 2018 BOS First (likely late round pick)

No, Ibaka is not the same player he used top be. We don't need to trade for players because of who they were, we need to trade for players because of who they we'll be.

Yeah, at this point I'd really like to see Zizic in a C's jersey.  I want to see if he can reach his potential in the NBA.  I'm not trading that for a rental.

But I wouldn't mind trading for Ibaka for a future non-brooklyn 1st.  He's worth a trial run at a cheap cost.

.....assuming a team who isn't projected to have cap room, like, say, Toronto steps in and outbids you in order to get his Bird Rights. Ibaka can't be had for a second rounder.

Other than being white and european, Mirotic is nothing like Jerebko.  Far more skilled offensively, far worse defensively and as a rebounder.

Wrong this year check the numbers.  Mirotic has been a poor offensive player.  Shooting less than 39 percent from the field this year and averaging less than an assist per game in 22.5 mpg.  Jererebko is shooting better this year and averaging slightly more assists in almost 5 minutes less per game.  But don't let the facts get in the way.  That's why the Bulls don't want him.

They need a strong rebounder. Even Faried would be acceptable at this point. I don't know if he or Nurkic would cost more. Denver has too many bigs, and they seem to be the most logical trade partner. Bogut just can't stay on the floor enough to be of much help. The Orlando guys will probably cost them too much. They can't afford to trade starters, including Smart--they aren't that deep. Use those many non Nets draft picks!

You could probably get Nurkic or Ibaka without giving up a starting core member or any BKN picks.

I think Bogut isn't much of an option anymore due to injuries and such..

Vucevic as well because Magic want back good value for him.

Yeah, Gibson is the type of rebounding 4 that would really help. They should be able to get him, or equivalent from somewhere else, for one of those many non Nets no. 1s that Danny has hoarded, plus expiring contracts.

I'm bumping this thread b/c I was just about to put up a similar poll.  This is more likely than a blockbuster, i.e. Melo, Butler, Cousins, Love or even Millsap.  I would add Faried and Noel to the poll if Bogut is a choice, just so all the reasonable bigs are there.  Some would say to add Okafor but he seems to be headed to NO.

That said, I voted for Ibaka.  He may not be peak-form OKC Ibaka, but he is still a very complete player who is having a decent season.  IMO, Ibaka would give the C's the edge over Toronto and Washington to make it to the ECF, yet still retain future flexibility to continue to build for the long-term.

Bogut has hardly played all year due to injury.  I see no point in renting him.  All the others seem like reasonable targets but I think Greg Monroe is probably being looked at as well.

Not really crazy about any of these guys, ex maybe Vuc.  I'd really be happy with a smaller deal with our hated Lakers for Tarik Black and either of Lou Williams or Swaggy P!  Shouldn't take much to get that done.  Black is athletic, and a relentless rebounder, who stays inside, can make switches on D, and is a decent shotblocker for his size!  Lou would give us much needed scoring off the bench, and either he or Swaggy would give us additional 3pt shooting!

Mirotic and Jerebko are as similar as an egg and a pencil.
