Ibaka had a bad game against Boston, I agree.

But he's actually been a solid guy this season. 15/7 (2 blocks/game)

As a second tier FA option this summer, I wouldn't mind him. I doubt he gets max but probably near-max.

People forget Ibaka played a pretty big role in *almost* beating Golden State last season in the WCF.

Cleveland and Golden State have trouble against teams with size.

Again, I'd prefer Hayward or Griffin, or even Butler if available in a trade, but since it's likely they won't be available, you are looking at signing one of Millsap/ibaka/noel (since this is the last summer with ample cap space before rookie deals/extensions kick in).

I don't really care about this summer or what his next contract will be. I care about getting him now as a rental for the rest of this year and see how he fits and if he improves us. If he earns his stay then we can talk in the summer. If he doesn't fit we let him go. But it needs to be a cheap add - no real assets.

HoopsHabit suggests that something like Zeller/Amir and the Memphis pick is all it would take to get Ibaka. If so, I'd be jumping on that deal.

I'm not too excited about getting rid of two bigs for one. Yes they don't set the world on fire, but in the playoffs, we may need big bodies for foul reasons. And I wouldn't want to chance picking some one up before the playoffs, who most likely wont be any better than either one of those guys.

Yeah, the article stated it was one or the other, not both. With Zeller you'd have to add someone like Young to make it work, which isn't a big deal.

But I agree. Zeller is essentially trade fodder with his contract, and Amir is on his last legs. I could see one of JJ or Amir back next year on a cheaper contract like Zeller's, but I think we'd prefer JJ to Amir, especially with Zizic coming over.

Ideally, we'd trade Zeller, Young, and the pick for Ibaka, and he'd prove to be a really good fit with us where we decide to resign him this summer. FOr those people not wanting to trade the Brooklyn picks, this is an ideal scenario that allows us to compete now, all while still building a future with the younger core of Smart, Brown, and the Brooklyn picks.

I think we'd give Cleveland a run for their money with that trade. That's a perfect surrounding cast for IT with 4 good to great shooters with elite defense around him, giving him maximal space offensively and coverage defensively.

That's the only thing I don't like about a potential Noel trade - he doesn't provide the spacing offensively that someone like Ibaka can, which is really beneficial with a player like IT.

I don't see Danny making a move for Ibaka this February.

I do expect the Celtics to sign EITHER Millsap or Ibaka this summer though.

I'd still gladly make that trade at the deadline and get him now. At least that way you have him for this season in case injuries happen, to us or opponents, where you can take advantage of his presence.

I still think he'd make us a tough out for Cleveland, even with the possibility of knocking them off if IT can continue his elite play. That'd allow us to accurately gauge where we're really at before handing out any sort of longer term money this offseason.

Frankly I don't see any of those happening at the deadline (probably not even Ibaka).

Is Cousins really available?

Who knows with the dysfunctional Kings franchise.

Reports did say Suns-Kings had talks about a Cousins trade a few days ago (and it was from a legit, well respected reporter).
