He went on Mike Francesa's show this week sounding like a lunatic, saying the Knicks want a high lottery pick this year so they can rebuild around Porzingis, therefore, the Celtics should give the Knicks a Brooklyn pick for Carmelo Anthony and his grotesque contract.

He truly believes fair value for Anthony is the 2017 Brooklyn pick.  :o ::)

I wouldn't do the trade either but if I didn't know the NBA I would swear Carmelo Anthony was not a future hall-of-famer by the way he's talked about among fans (even by Knicks fans). I live in Brooklyn and New Yorkers acknowledge Melo as probably the 2nd/3rd best player on a championship team, and can't be built around.

IMO, he's an over rated Ball Hog and will kill the chemistry on whatever team he gets traded to.

This think this is pretty accurate. Melo is not a #1. But he's definitely a #2. He accepts that role willingly in the Olympics when he's surrounded by other great talents and plays incredibly well and efficiently.

Still wouldn't give up anything of value for gimme because of his contract though.

If Danny trade the brooklyn pick for Melo, not only should he be fired, he should pay back every dime he's made in the last five years from the organization, and then get sued for theft, bribery, fraud, arson, crime of conspiracy to commit robbery, and for generally sucking at his job.  And then have him scrub clean all the toilets in the new facility after every practice for two years as part of his community service after serving five years in the county jail.

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would

That's just nuts.  Especially when considering that the Celtics don't even want Anthony on the team.  Anthony is like a past his prime Dominique Wilkens.  You don't trade trade that Nets pick for that player.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
who cares. What a moron.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

No way in hell.  I am not a Melo fan and I think he would ruin this team.  If we did trade for him, baby a 2nd rounder and James Young.  But that wouldn't work $ wise.

He's the Heat guy right? He's always had an anti-Celtics bias.

This is not an anti-Celtics thing. This is a fundamental lack of understanding of basketball, the NBA, the draft, this Draft, the salary cap, and the lottery among other things.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

Oh I think he is fully aware of what he's doing. He has made many statements and false reports over the years with anti-Celtics biases. I think he is basically a Riley plant to spread mis-information.
