No biggie. I'd rather see Boston's young guys focusing on their real team.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

Who cares?  I consider all-star weekend a much needed break from basketball.

Have him over Chriss but like, that's a fair call. Otherwise, who are you leaving off?

Exum. I mean, he's not longer a rookie nor a sophomore. Missing second year due to injuries doesn't technically make you a sophomore.

But Exum is on the international team. Jaylen qualifies as international?

It doesn't matter which team it is. Exum doesn't really qualify as a sophomore and his stats are meh. Towns can easily replace Exum on the lineup since he's from Dominican Republic, which would leave a vacant spot for the US team.

I don't understand how he "doesn't really qualify as a sophomore."  If Embiid is able to win ROY, I would think Exum can be considered a sophomore.

There is a difference between starting your career as a rookie and resuming your career. If that's the case, Whiteside have a case too two years ago since he only played in the main league in his rookie year before bouncing to D-league.

He has been bad.  He hasn't been in the top 10 of a draft class that has been historically terrible.  Long-term, he and zizic might have bright futures.   Jaylen needs time.

You are right.  I retract my comment.  For some reason I thought Exum missed his rookie year, not last year.

Well it is quite different. Exum was injured for the year whereas Whiteside dropped out of the NBA and continued playing. The exceptions are for when a player misses a season through injury

Jaylen said he didn't want to take part in the dunk contest for practice and improvement, which I guess was meant in Boston.

So it would make no sense for him to be in this game, which is pretty much a baby all-star game. I would have been disapointed if he turned down dunk contest to still go in NO and play this game.

That's a good thing

I think he turned the dunk because he was not in this one and he thought he would not do well.

  • That's turrible
I wouldn't call it a total snub. Everyone knows what he's capable of, he doesn't get the minutes or plays called for him very often. If you stuck him on the Sixers, I'd definitely see him putting up at least 10-12 PPG. That's just his situation.

I missed the game v Houston last night, where Jaylen started, but didn't play much.

Typical short leash by Brad?  Seemed to have a lot of early fouls called against him.

it isn't a short leash if you aren't very good.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

He is going to be good and that is very obvious but it's going to take some time. Who cares about the rising star. I bet he will be invited next year.

he had 4 fouls, hard to play much minutes if you have 4 fouls in the first half, and 4th quarter is basically "we must win this game, so we must put our best players out"
