I thought this could be a nice opportunity, but if he's convinced it's better for his development, then i trust him 100%. I think he's a smart guy.

Really glad that he declined to do it. Just look at Vince Carter, won a dunk contest, and spent his whole career having to prove that he was more than a dunker.

Zavine will forever be seen as just a dunker, no matter what he accomplishes after that.

Seems odd.  Why wouldn't a rookie struggling to get playing time want the exposure.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Well, if this is what he says, this would make him "struggle" even more. And I don't actually think he does

I think he overthinks things and is trying too hard to make sure he does the right thing every time. I think he mentally made a bigger deal of this than it really is and In turn missed a nice opportunity.

Not a big deal either way.

but you miss out on a lot of potential learning opportunities when you aren't around guys at the all star game.  Imagine what you could overhear in that setting.  Imagine being able to pull a veteran aside from another team and ask some questions.  Maybe just participating brings a whole new attitude and confidence to his game.  I can't believe he turned it down.  Seems like the wrong move to me (unless he is injured or has a personal conflict).

Yeah I don't really care about the contest, I just think it'd be a good thing to have a bright young guy like Brown spend some time around the best professionals on the planet. But it's his choice and ultimately shouldn't matter too much.

are you suggesting that CBS would give more minutes to brown were he to take part in this show?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I like that he says he hopes to get asked again. It's not that he doesn't want to do it, it's just not the right time. He wants to take is slow and go when he's ready.

Good for him.
