Honestly. What the **** happened to our defense? That was supposed to be the team's calling card.

Now I guess we've got nothing but outright **** on the defensive end.

It's so frustrating, isn't it?

Ugh.  Our last 3 losses (Toronto, New York, and Portland) have all come against teams Embiid has beat this month in limited minutes.

This isn't about any one individual play.  This is first and really only about the implosion of Boston's defense.  They just lost at home to two bad teams because they CANNOT take control of games.  Normally, it would be silly to freak out over a team that could win 50 games but we look a lot farther farther away from being a legitimate contender than last year and without a string of Hall of Fame fourth quarters from IT, we'd look even worse.

Hopefully by the time Fultz, Jaylen and whoever we pick in 2019 are good, LeBron will be cooked. Because this team would need more than Boogie to beat him.

its been my fear that they would lap us in the next 3 years.  This just has me worried.  It highlights how badly we need a big when an inferior team with a big can beat teams we are failing against.   Trade for boogie.

Reason for our defensive decline? Rebounding. Add the lost of Avery Bradley and we are much worse. Smart had to carry the defensive end alone, just like IT is carrying the offensive load.

Agreed. Doesn't add up with some personnel other than an upgrade with Horford.  Hopefully they figure it out before dropping in the standings.

I have a friend that refuses to watch pro basketball, his reasoning... the refs suck. I'm beginning to see his point.

As suspect as our front line is...we just can't contain opposing guards. Opposing backcourts are having their way with us.

The 2017 draft is going to be key for us. We need to land a star to match with Brown to keep up with the Sixers.

problem is that there are no elite bigs at the top of the 2017 draft. Someone in the other thread says we have the 2018 draft to look forward to but that's a long time from now.  Maybe it's time to make a trade.  Or we just need to accept that for the foreseeable future we are going to have trouble due to our lack of size.

I get close to his position sometimes.  The refs today are fearful, as in afraid to not blow the whistle when there may have been a foul.  The remedy, blow the whistle all the time, anticipation whistles, guessed at fouls, etc.  A foul should only be a foul when you see it and/or hear it, not when you think: well, there must have been some contact there.

Lonzo Ball and Fultz both have top 5 potential in the league. If we land one of them then I can live with waiting for a legit big.
