Even after being boo'd he still had respect for the fans to not clown around after the Jaylen Dunk.

They said that he was booed but I had to watch on ESPN and couldn't really tell. I can't believe a fan base after a player gives you 9 outstanding years to boo him on his first return. It's not like he pulled a Lebron on "the decision". Bad fairweather fans in Atlanta.

I can't believe that you can't believe that would happen.

agreed. If the Hawks offered the same amount of money I could understand some resentment but they didn't correct? The Hawks also peaked as a team with Horford and there were no plans to improve. As a fan you have to realize this also. Horford was just going to waste away the rest of his career on a team with no flexibility to improve.

The Hawks fans did it right and the Celtics fans could learn something from them. You cheer the guy when they do the introduction and video to thank him for his past performance. Then, you boo him the rest of the game to show him that if he's not with you, he's against you.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

From the ESPN feed it seemed he was booed during introductions and cheered during the video tribute.

They booed him the whole game except during the tribute. To me, that wasn't classy form them. You wanna blame hom for going to better place, instead staying with that horrible franchise? C'mon. Those few fans should be mad at their own management and owners for the lack of long term strategy and that stupid gm wilcox... Neverm8nd, just wanted to say that not only that gesture when Jaylen dunked, but in a whole. The guy is a warrior for head to toe. He's been like that since he came in to the league. Great poise, sportsmanship, pride and honor. Real likeable also, hope he gets one with the C's.

Ahh, didn't see that. Only appropriate during the actual game.

Class guy, the way Big Al handled it all. So glad Danny got him and he's on the other side now.

Not surprising ATL's reaction, though. I'm certain some of the boos were likely because of BOS and our history of ownage of them - dating back to the days Dominique, Tree Biting Man, and including KG - VS ATL Co-Owner who called Pierce and KG "Old."

I thank that Co-Owner to this day because KG went on to have perhaps his last huge performance in the NBA with 25-14 and 5 blocks in closing them out in 2012.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
Living in Atlanta. Atlanta does not have good professional sports fans. Usually who ever they are playing has more fans than the home team. There were at least 30-40 percent green and some empty seats too. I Left proud and yes Al is Class and so our celtic fans. I am proud to be one.

They are thinking long term...they traded away older players like Teague and Korver and they let Horford go. (Granted, signing Howard goes against that strategy.) It appears their emphasis is to build the team with younger players.

We already have CBer's who want to trade Horford. Imagine what the chorus will sound like in year four of his contract.
