one of the teams that we have the advantage over in bigs. sure, AD is all world but he is ALL they have as a threat in bigs.
Just took a look at
team stats. They are 9th in total rebounds per game(44.6) but they have the second worst differential (-4.6); btw, Dallas is the worst with -5.6 and given that they also have the slowest pace this tells a lot.
Back to NOP. I would still not say >we have the advantage over in bigs. At least not when it comes to rebounding.
Our team stats are p bad too: we are 28th in total rebounds (41.1) and we have a p bad differential too (-4.3); we also rely a lot on some of our guards and SFs for rebounding, even with Bradley out. Also note that NOP just got Motiejunas too who is a decent rebounder.
I just did the maths based on the
boxscoreCunningham (4) + Davis (15) + T. Jones (1) + DiMo (5) = 25 rebs
Amir (6) + Horford (7) + Kelly (4) + Jerebko (6)= 23 rebs
So, our bigs and their bigs were almost tied as far as rebounding numbers are concerned.
What made the difference tonight is our guards and SFs: Smart (5), Crowder (6), IT (3), Jaylen (4), Gerald (3), Rozier (3). For comparison, outside their bigs, the best NOP rebounders were Galloway and Hield with 4 each.
I would not make big conclusions based on one game, and regardless of who got the rebs, it is encouraging that we did well. After all, rebounding like everything else, requires team effort.
