The Celtics had 15 offensive rebounds and out-rebounded NO 47 to 42.  I thought our front line was too short to do that.  I agree we need a big center and let Horford work at the 4:  but it does not seem like an emergency.  Wait for a really good center and meanwhile try out the Zizic and such next year.

I think Zizac should join the team in the second half as long as he looks good in the better league.

Danny cannot make a big move for Cousins or even Noel if they cost a fortune. I'd give up Olynyk and Rozier for Noel. I don't know if that's enough. Olynyk, Rozier, non-Brooklyn picks and guys like Jackson and Mickey if Philly is interested.

Olynyk plus Rozier works according to the trade machine.

But we already have the rights to Zizac. He would fill an immediate need. There's no point in giving away the shop for proven centers when we might have the guy already on the team or stashed. Why pay for something when you can get it for free?

Noel is a restricted free agent. Philly is not simply going to unload him. They will want to keep him as an asset. This is why I think Olynyk is getting resigned. He will not walk like a Bass or Sully.

one of the teams that we have the advantage over in bigs. sure, AD is all world but he is ALL they have as a threat in bigs.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

one of the teams that we have the advantage over in bigs. sure, AD is all world but he is ALL they have as a threat in bigs.

Just took a look at team stats. They are 9th in total rebounds per game(44.6) but they have the second worst differential (-4.6); btw, Dallas is the worst with -5.6 and given that they also have the slowest pace this tells a lot.

Back to NOP. I would still not say >we have the advantage over in bigs. At least not when it comes to rebounding.

Our team stats are p bad too: we are 28th in total rebounds (41.1) and we have a p bad differential too (-4.3); we also rely a lot on some of our guards and SFs for rebounding, even with Bradley out. Also note that NOP just got Motiejunas too who is a decent rebounder.

I just did the maths based on the boxscore

Cunningham (4) + Davis (15) + T. Jones (1) + DiMo (5) = 25 rebs

Amir (6) + Horford (7) + Kelly (4) + Jerebko (6)= 23 rebs

So, our bigs and their bigs were almost tied as far as rebounding numbers are concerned.

What made the difference tonight is our guards and SFs: Smart (5), Crowder (6), IT (3), Jaylen (4), Gerald (3), Rozier (3). For comparison, outside their bigs, the best NOP rebounders were Galloway and Hield with 4 each.

I would not make big conclusions based on one game, and regardless of who got the rebs, it is encouraging that we did well. After all, rebounding like everything else, requires team effort.

This is a rare event. They usually get outrebounded.

Kelly is a beast and made Davis his son.

The Pelicans are a one man show.

Talk about Cousins playing on teams without talent? No team Demarcus has ever played on is as bad as this years Pelicans team.

Honestly,  Kelly did better at attacking Davis than most.

My theory is Davis had never encountered someone that slow and awkward willing to drive at him in his entire career.
