Too bad Rozier, AJ, KO, and C's 2018 isn't good enough for Millsap.

That's too much for a six month rental. I want Milsap, but I don't think what we would offer would be enough to get him

Unless the Kings offer an unrestricted first round pick in a trade with the Hawks, we can give them a better offer.

The Nuggets will offer Nurkic and Chandler, but I'm not sure that either player is a good piece. I'm not a huge fan of Nurkic. Good player, but is he a starter? Are they willing to trade a first rounder too?

Obviously the team most motivated is the Raptors, who I think eventually gets him. A Haul of Poeltl and Caboclo plus Ross and Patterson would be pretty awesome for the Hawks.

I don't think Danny Ainge would top that offer.

I call total bull crap on the Mavs battling away pitches for Matthews.  He has shot 38% since coming back from his ACL injury and is being paid 17.1 million this year, 17.9 next year, and 18.6 the year after and currently has PER of 12.7, which is HORRIBLE for a starter.  This is simply Dallas trying to make gullible idiot GM's THINK that there is ANY interest in Matthews!!!!  And before people start telling me what a GREAT defender he is, he is ranked 21st in defensive RPM!!

Is the only thing stopping Ainge from offering our 2018 first and the Memphis first for Lopez a commitment to maintaining cap space?  Or might he also be worried about fitting into Stevens' system?  Lopez isn't a great rebounder or defender but would still probably be an improvement and putting him with IT, Bradley, Crowder and Al would be a devastating offense.

Remeber, for much of last year he was competing for defensive rebounds with Andrea Bargnani.

So what are the prices of star players?  SOunds to me that people dont think the Cs have enough to go get that star or its going to be super pricey.

Amir and KO are combining to average just 8.4 boards in 40 minutes.  If you figure we keep one of them, Lopez/Amir or Lopez/KO would probably be better than Amir/KO since Lopez' career rebounding average is more like 7 a game.  And Lopez is averaging more blocks in 30 mins than Amir/KO are in 40.  Just his sheer bulk would make a difference.

On the other hand, his pick-n-roll defense and rotations might be a good bit worse than Amir/KO, but that's balanced out by adding a legit 20 point a game post threat to the starting lineup.

I think it's total bullcrap but for different reasons.

Matthews is 30 years old and being paid about $18m a year. Dallas sucks. They're already in rebuilding mode and will be even moreso when Dirk retires (probably at the end of this year). They have no chance of winning the next couple of years and so having Matthews around is just a waste. At some point they'll cut bait with him because keeping him around doesn't do him or the team any good. I think they may have not wanted to trade him until he showed that he was recovered from the ACL tear but that's been done. They'll let Wesley go and keep Barnes around to keep butts in the seats as they start the rebuilding process.

I wouldn't be interested in any of the players in this post. No needle movers here. 6 months of Milsap doesn't put us tops in the East.
