A loss wouldn't be that bad for the Cs tonight. Would leave Brooklin 2 down the second-to-last team

Why is Zeller in street clothes?

Sick -- sinus infection

Or is he sitting out until traded?

He was in the hospital for a night. That's a bit far to go for having someone sit out

Danny is the master of deception

IMO Doing nothing before the trade deadline isn't an option.

This Celtic team need an interior presents in the paint. We can't keep being the team everyone attacks in the paint, and expect to ever get out of the first round of the playoffs.

Horford hit some clutch 3's, but as a defender against the bigger teams, he struggles, along with Amir.

Their combined six blocks says a bit differently.

I thought this was more about our guards letting McConnell be John Stockton against us. When a guard is getting into the paint all the time, our bigs have to cover multiple guys. The integrity of the defense was compromised by the guards, not the bigs tonight.

Welp.  On the one hand, good teams beat bad teams even when the good team plays a good bit of the game like hot garbage.  On the other hand, there's really no excuse to struggle against a roster as bad as Philly's when you've had a couple days of rest.

Mike

With Embiid and Noel they're a terrible match up for us...

And if Embiid had 40 or Noel had 12 blocks, that might explain them giving us a tough time.  But Embiid had just 23 and 8 while Noel had 13 pts, 8 board and 3 blocks.  If that's all they do, this Celtics team shouldn't have to work that hard to beat Philly.

Great game.  Got the win.  Fun to see that Philly team in their infancy holding their own without one of their two franchise players on the court and the other one on a minute restriction.  Still can't imagine how scary they'll be if they get that Laker pick and add two more franchise players this Summer.

Big game for Noel's trade value, too.  I wonder if they are pausing on the idea of trading him or if they were showcasing him for Danny.

Part of me wanted us to let Philly win this one so they could add some distance over Brooklyn.  This draft is our chance to add a franchise player too.

Just 23 points? He played 26 minutes.

They got 36 points, 16 rebounds and 51 minutes of elite defensive play from their two centers.

That's pretty darn good...

Embiid dropped 33 on Lopez the last time he played the Nets.

Wouldn't hold my breath.

Wow.  Nice stats.  Those guys were amazing tonight.  It will be interesting to see how they look when those two guys are fully recovered from their injuries.  Minutes restrictions and foul trouble limited them (thankfully).   Per 36 Embiid put up 32 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks tonight... while Noel had 19 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 4 blocks.  Outstanding performances.   They actually look like they can play together.  Maybe they should keep experimenting with them before rushing to make a short-sighted trade.

Another struggle against Philly.  They are going to be a very good team soon if Embiid stays healthy.   Great shooting by Al tonight.

Philly really altered IT's game tonight.

Despite IT's recent offensive accomplishments, this game serves as a reminder as to how his size is a huge limitation.
